  you know how at every baptismal talk they say to the candidates that they should 'make a note of this date june, 4 whatever..ect'?

  and everyone knows that date for like the rest of their life?

  HELP!!!! Got caught celebrating christmas

  an interesting situation happened to me yesterday.

  i used to work for a company that employed about 30+ jw's of.

  i always kept in touch with the non-jw co-workers, and when i left, i began sending.

  Questions: Are you still active in a local congregation? What is your status as a JW? If the answer is yes and active, it is just a matter of time before you get a ring from your local body of Elders.

  Remember, they cannot get you on hearsay (generally). Two or more witnesses are needed to show at least a pattern.

  man: we want to be free, and want no god telling us how to live.. god: fine, do your own thing.. after numerous murders, genocide, and other evils, we hear this:.

  man: i can't believe in a god who would allow all this evil to happen .

  and not intervene to prevent it.. god: why not?

  Remember, according to the Bible (Matt 2:1-16), the star led the wise men first to King Herod and then to Jesus. Something more is here than just a star. The Bible condemns astrology.

  back in the 70's, that particularly self-congratulatory phrase became fashionable fair here in the uk.

  i remember my dear old dad trotting this out when her ladyship and i got married in '73.. talk about a bucket of cold water!

  You are correct, Englishman. The JW mind set is that you are Daniel, ready to be tossed in the lions den, you are the three Hebrews, ready to be cast into the fire by this old “world.” I remember at school when I was singled out to explain why I did not salute the flag, man, it was me against the world. Very sad.................

  most religions out there have this thing against witnesses.

  many will do anything to get them banned or to shut their mouths.

  Well, other Christians are persecuted too. Look at the Taliban on the five Christians for preaching, none where Jws. Look at the current cases in China. I believe what you are talking about is related more to administrative issues more than religious reasons, no voting, no participation in the community, not obtaining a license, and other such matters.

  1 March 2000, New Zealand | Two university students climbed to the top of Baldwin Street, the steepest in the world according to The Guinness Book of World Records. The women attempted to pilot a rubbish bin down the 38-degree incline, but missed a crucial turn and hurtled into a trailer parked legally aside the road.   21 July 2001, Idaho | When the brakes failed while driving down a steep mountain road, Marco bailed out on his eight passengers and threw himself from the Dodge van. Too bad he didn't alert the others to the problem before he hit the pavement. Another passenger was able to bring the vehicle to a stop a short distance away. Marco died of a head wound, but no one else was injured.
