An interesting situation happened to me yesterday. I used to work for a company that employed about 30+ JW's of
which many are still there. I always kept in touch with the non-JW co-workers, and when I left, I began sending
them birthday wishes and holiday greetings. Anyway, one of them must have mentioned this to this flakey JW that
hangs out with them on occasion because I received the following email from her:

"I heard some disturbing news about you and your husband.
I was told that you both now celebrate xmas and birthdays.
    Please respond. :o( "

Who in the "H E double toothpicks" does she think she is? She is just shy of being DF'd herself. My husband kept
telling me not to keep in touch with the JW's, but she had my email address because my old co-workers had me on
their mailing list and she could see my address. Every now and again I would include her on my email trash route.
Should I have cut ties with the co-workers to keep from being found out, or is it right for me to have lived my life at
whatever cost? Should I respond to this JW, and if so, what should I say?

Tell her, I heard some disturbing news recently. I heard that you're a hypocrite.

BTW, she's going to have to be an actual witness to this to affect you. Remember their little 2 witness edict? Use it to your advantage.

If you don't want to deal with a committee and risk getting canned, then just deny it.

SO that it's not a lie, here's something I heard about her, she likes little girls. Now I won't verify whether or not this is true, but you can now in good conscience write back to her that you've heard she likes little girls.

If that's too harsh, just write back and remind her that you owe her NO EXPLANATIONS at all.

    Dear Annoying Self-Righteous CoWorker,

I was deeply disturbed to notice your bold and flagrant use of an emoticon in your e-mail to me. The symbol '':o('', which I am loath to even copy, is obviously in imitation of an ancient Egyptian symbol used in pagan death rituals. Were you not paying attention to the fine spiritual food at the last special assembly day? Sure, some may argue that these so-called ''emoticons'' are just friendly ways of conveying emotion in an otherwise dull text message, but that's exactly what Satan, the ever cunning deceiver, wants us to think! I suggest you increase your meeting attendance and participation in order to stay alert to these timely warnings given through the FDS.

    Alternatively, don't reply.
It's funny how email can get lost at Xmas time!

    I would not respond.

As Henry Ford II, used to say, "Don't complain and don't explain." As Ogden Nash wrote, "If you hear a panther, do not anther."

(((())))) Ded, you crack me up!!!

Kay - As hard as it might be, don't respond to her. She could use it as fuel and take it to the elders. It may lead to a JC for you. I would just realize it's none of her business, whether she is a good little dub or not. Perhaps you could send her a Happy Winter Solstice card?

    your former co-worker writes:

"I heard some disturbing news about you and your husband.
I was told that you both now celebrate xmas and birthdays.
    Please respond. :o( "

    You can write back:
    "Dear Busybody:
If you were up-to-date on your Watchtower reading, which you obviously are not, you would know that the WTS has opened the way for "faithful Christians" to exercise their own Bible trained conscience in these matters. If you weren't such a slacker you would have known that. Kindly refer to the 12/15/2001 Questions From Readers in the Watchtower. And kindly remember that the next time you open your big mouth, to make sure both your feet are on the floor.

By the way, I also heard some disturbing news about you being close to getting DFd. Are you sure you are the right person to be passing judgement on me for something the Society says is now a conscience matter?? Isn't that God's job, not yours, not the elders??

Another point for you to reflect on: Did you know that people such as yourself can be successfully sued for slandering another person such as myself? How deep are your pockets again?? I'm sure you wouldn't want to have to receive counsel from the elders regarding malicious gossip, and I would hate to be the one to bring it to their attention.

    Oh and one more thing:

    SOD OFF!

    Love, Kay"
