mf was a friend of mine for a long time.
he loved the congregation, and would defend it to the last.
around the same time my wedding was happening, things were heating up for him and a sister he had been in love with for years.
Interesting story Ashi,
I'm eagerly looking forward to the next part.

You and Hillary both have excellent writing styles. You're not really the same person are you?
Just stirring up a little more paranoia around here.

sixty minutes covered this story a month ago and meet the press brought it up again this morning when rumsfeld was interviewed.... when stationing troops in foreign countries, the u.s. military tries to abide by the rules of the country.
in saudi arabia, the custom for women in public is that they wear an abaya, a floor-length, long-sleeve, loose-fitting garment that covers everything but the face.
air force lt. col. martha mcsally filed a lawsuit against the pentagon, arguing that the policy was discriminatory because men are not required to dress in traditional muslim garments.. when interviewed on sixty minutes, mcsally was so offended by the garment that she would not put it on just to demonstrate what it looked like.
Imbue,
When you post a reply, look at the bottom of the reply window. You will see Add emotions to your message. Click on that and a window will pop up with details. You have to include brackets [] around the symbols in your post. Hope this helps.

Interesting point Teejay,
If she were an ambassador or diplomat, and part of her duties were to actively abstain from offending residents of the country she were in, then I would say, yes it's just a shawl, put it on.
But she's not. And it is a symbol of male domination to them. When we send troops to another country, of course they should not actively seek to offend the general population, which they may have no complaint with. But when we send troops in, why should we have to adjust to their standards and social schisms? If the women should have to do it, then so should the men.

well, as some of you know, i'm completely out of the borg, including meetings, converting, etc.
my brother/cousin are one step behind... they've made up their mind that the org.
is just a man-made organisation with plenty of secrets to hide (some of which i've gleefully exposed to them.... now, as for my parents... they're still completely in, don't worry.
Hey Mindchild,
Sounds as good a plan as any others I've heard. Besides, no one else knows your parents like you do! Keep the faith, brother.

oh lordy.
i dont usually post these messages i get from jw mailing lists.
but this one is pretty hilarious:.
Hehehe,
Thanks for sharing it Moxy! I guess the intended reaction from that was supposed to be awe at the power of Jehovah to provide these things miraculously to those people. Instead, the reaction is: How ridiculous that I once believed such BS without ever giving a thought to the practicality and reality of it. And since God hasn't been around in a few milennia to prove he's out there doing these things...why should I believe it?

dear friends of reproductive freedom,.
george w bush and his right-wings friends are quietly pursuing their domestic agenda while the nations attention is focused on international terrorism.. bush's attacks on women's reproductive freedom continue.. examples;.
1. on his first day in the oval office, bush re-instated the global gag rule, which takes family planning funds from organizations that even mention the option of abortion to their patients, risking womens lives overseas.. 2. bush has promised to re-visit the food and drug administration's approval of ru-486.and anti-abortion forces in congress have already introduced a bill to limit it's availability.. 3. with the expected retirement of 3 supreme court justices ,including sandra day o'connor, who is often the critical swing vote on abortion rights issue, bush has made it clear that he will nominate the most adamant opponents of abortion and civil rights.. the bush administration is committed to strategies that limit life saving stem cell research, criminalize abortion providers, reduce the availability of birth control and deny funding of health reproduction education in the schools.. what better way to take on the christian coalition and ultra-right leaders and movements, than to use your voice to speak up now!!.
Thanks for heads up Tina.
How YOU doin' sweetie?

Those were funny. Any particular ones you could relate to personally? Come on, you can tell us...we won't tell Simon.
Skipper, yours should have been titled: "20 Clues an Alcoholic Should Call it a Night".
