Larry,
No, but I'm the original here.
many years ago i heard that the jw's in mexico weren't allowed to sing songs or pray at the meetings due to the government not wanting to recognize them as a 'religion'.
is this true?
then i heard that jehovah helped them and now they are recognized as a religion and they can sing & have prayers in meetings.

Seedy and Nancee are correct. I even wrote a poem about that and the JWs in Malawi.

Spread the Word south of the border;
deny the fact we're a religious order.
Tell them we're a culture club;
just a bunch of social "dubs".
Hide the bibles and change the names;
bribe officials and play the games.
The reason for the tricks you see?
We want land and it's not free.
Crime and death in other lands?
Oh! Well that's a religious stand!

i still got my insight books,bible,song book,revelation book,isiahia book,some tracts,awakes @watchtowers.
i did throw a lot of my magz away but still got these,what shall i do keep them,sell them to second hand book store,give to charity shop,or read them all again and brainwash myself with jw ideology.
I've never been a JW so it's all new to me. I read the mags whenever I run across them. Very amusing stuff. One recently had a Q. from the readers about what the bible says about marrying a cousin! I also like to look for the messages that say "stay loyal to the Org".
I received the Rev. book from an active JW to look up some things for myself. But that's about the only one I'll keep.
the latest kingdom ministry states that disassociated persons are to be treated the same as disfellowshipped ones.
i have heard two explanations:.
1) those who da are assumed to be sinners who were apt to be disfellowshipped if they had stayed in the organization.
If someone DA's over a difference in beliefs or doctrine (not "sin") why treat them the same as DF?

The latest Kingdom Ministry states that disassociated persons are to be treated the same as disfellowshipped ones. Why is this?
I have heard two explanations:
1) Those who DA are ASSUMED to be sinners who were apt to be disfellowshipped if they had stayed in the organization.
Without a shread of evidence, without a single witness (much less the bible-based "two witnesses"), those who leave the organization are judged and condemned as sinners. On what basis are these assumtions made? What scriptures call for such actions?
1Pet3:16 Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.
2) Those who DA are said to be "turning their backs on Jehovah". This would assume that Jehovah and the Watchtower oganization are one and the same. Is leaving the organization (because of a difference of belief) the same as leaving Jehovah?
as most of you already know, the jehovah's witnesses are covering an article in their august kingdom ministry to be discussed the weeks of 8/19 and 8/26 which details how they are to shun and avoid those who are no longer members of their organization, even immediate family members.. .
undoubtedly this article has been written to reinforce to the rank&file jehovah's witnesses the shunning policy, so as to tighten the ranks and prevent members from having the opportunity to learn the abundant contradictions and hypocrisies found within watchtower doctrine and practice from any who may have left.. this policy also serves to divide families and attempt to shame or abuse those whom have chosen to no longer be jehovah's witnesses, for whatever reason.. that much is obvious.
in recent days this topic has been discussed in detail in various threads.
Hi All,
I've never been a JW, never baptised, attended a meeting, or a bible study. Met my very first JW when I was 42! I met a few of her friends as well. Once we were married and she DA'd, I got shunned right along with her.
As for the article in the KM, I think there's many JW's who refuse to shun. I know one personally. This may just be what she needs to push her out the door. My wife's parents also started communicating via e-mail recently. It will be interesting to see how this effects them.
peter once wrote concerning paul's writings, saying: "in them, however, are some things hard to understand" that being the case, it is understandable why jehovah opened his long-running dialogue with israel, through isaiah, by saying: "my own people have not behaved understandingly.
" further, in that 1st chapter, at verse 10, jehovah addresses the leaders of his people saying: "hear the word of jehovah, you dictators of sodom.
give ear to the law of our god, you people of gomorrah.
You Know has made the claim that JWs are "God's people".
Heres a few interesting quotes concerning that:
The One Body knows no divisions. All who have the spirit of Christ are one whether they fully realize it or not; one in spirit now and when glorified--married --one in every possible sense, even as the Father and Son are one. (Jno. 17:22,23 )
But we have a standing as individuals aside from our church standing. As individuals we have become joined to Christ and recognize him as our head and director. We have professed to have died to the world and to have become alive toward God through Jesus. Is our life conduct in harmony with our covenant with Christ? Are we entirely his? Is it our meat and drink to do his will? The profession is vain unless it is true. "His servants you are, to whom you render service."
The church is, to our understanding, one body, from Jesus, the head, down to the last member bearing the same fruit of the vine. Its life lasts on earth during the gospel age and until every member is clothed with its heavenly body. While on earth, any two or three of the members may assemble themselves as the body--the church--and will be so recognized by the head, who says He will meet with them.
Thus we have seen from various standpoints what constitutes Anti-Christ. Those against which we most guard are the power and influence of the various false heads and so called bodies of Christ, seeing to it that we recognize but one fold and one shepherd and that we heed not the voice of strangers but flee from them. And let us take heed lest we become adversaries of our Lord and Master as beloved brother Peter once did and thereby deserve the reproof--"Get thee behind me Satan." Let us not hinder by word or act any who are seeking to crucify the flesh--the human nature-- and to thus abide as members of the body of Christ, branches in the vine, else we shall to that extent be opposed to Christ or anti-christ.
If we have been baptized into Christ it is that we may be members of His body, the church. And since "He is the head of the body, the church," [Col. 1:18 ] it follows that the only controlling authority for those who are members of that body is the will of Christ Jesus the head.

It was 2 PAGES LONG!

our co shared a good scripture thought with the congregation.
he turn to revelation 16:13-14 and showed the congregation that satan and his demons have inspired unclean lying expressions that come from opposers of jehovah god.. the expressions are propaganda.
like other kinds of propoganda, the co said, these expressions are half-truths.
How can a frog be unclean? They live in the water!
