Ruby 456: "--this understanding denies nothingness too. " true", absolute nothingness is only a philosophical term. it does not exist in reality, according to all these writers. -

FaC: snow globe sitting on my bookshelf. yeah, but a snow globe that is automatically being tilted all the time by one of those devices that animate the other desk mobiles, with a battery that seems to be recharged remotely. because the white stuff keeps flying . Young ones are still born. -

No historical evidence for bronze age men living to 500yrs old?
by purrpurr inthe bible tells us that noah etc lived to 500yrs old as did many other characters who lived apparently to incredible years.. yet archaeological research tells us from looking at skeletons that have been dug up that the average lifespan was very short.
if a man got to the age of 50 they would have considered that quite an achievement.
when i was in i always wondered about this?

Would you have done what Adam did?
by thinker11 inevery religious group know the story of adam & eve.
for me, i understood what they did was wrong but i never felt they were bad people and considering that they never murdered anyone and seemed to live normal lives after being kicked out, i found it hard to accept that they deserved to die forever and that we would be responsible for suffering for their mistakes.
i personally feel like i might have done the same thing adam did when eve offered him the fruit.

FaC: "--A man loved a woman more than anything else, even eternal life and happiness and was willing to give that all away to be with her. Pretty powerful actually. But again, just a made up story.
sounds romantic, but he could have continued to be with her even without eating too. right? after all, she probably also lived into her late 900 erts . or? do you think that the lady attached an ultimatum to the deal, unless you eat, I am going to treat you as when you don't take out the garbage, remember!?
Would I have, , personally? No. two wrongs do not make a right.

Waiting of God’s Kingdom is actually postponing happiness
by elbib inthe knowledge of religious tales are similar to knowing the story of the "little red riding hood.
" there is the big, "bad" wolf who needs to be conquered, destroyed, avoided.
the story may change as religions change.

good thoughts, but it is not postponing happiness. that is predicated on the assumption that there is substance to the wt promises. But, all of them have failed: paradise "soon" 1914, 25, 75, 2075-- so why would you believe the other promises, the resurrection, to immortality or eternal life would be any surer? when the easy ones failed?
Living for the future is not postponing happiness, it is cancelling it.

BW: "--hat cause the the "thing" that caused the big bang and then what cause the thing that cause the thing that caused the big bang on into infinity.
if you just could free yourself from the idea that time is a moving entity and think of it as a dimensions, static and we moving through it, at varying speeds. If movement through time started at the big bang, there was no movement prior to it, and no need for an infinite cascade of causes, because time and energy were, are and will be, are already in the future. eternally, not moving.
All the books I have read about "something out of nothing" Kraus et al, always end up by postulating that there is no such thing as nothing. period.

you would see these attractive young couples who clearly were well off.
the brother had privileges though so you know he was at the meetings and fs regularly.

In a group of people that are supposed to live by the principles that jesus taught , according to the story, a lot of hypocricy has come to the surface, the top. Jw congregations resemble christianity stood on it's head,
Families might have money from grubbing, hoarding from way back, while others naively slaved in the field. In many places, just to own a shack makes you a millionaire after all.-- It is great to profit in a group that is told to be humble and serving. it is great to be served that way, to be considered superior, because the R&F are told to consider the Cream (or scum) at the top to be superior. That is why it is good to be out, free, not just the of doctrines.

The art of dinner conversations obviously developed later. Since his was the first threefold bond ( according to wt talk outlines) and Jah talked to them directly, why not the trio to have had a real discussion over the fruit plate about that,-- with all the scenarios (prophecies) laid out? It was not about continuing sex. That co-pulation would have happened whether Adam ate or not. Had he not eaten, his would have been eternal sex with another perfect woman, ( a possible x-generation grand-ggg overlapping generation daughter) --for a perfect Jesus was produced out of mary, the "second Eve" so to speak. Perfect daughters would have born to eve.
It is amazing what results, when you have a story that insults your intelligence. Talking snake and the creator walking in the garden in the breeze. cheese!

Be ready to obey!!
by kairos inhttp://www.jw.org/en/publications/magazines/w20131115/seven-shepherds-eight-dukes/.
from paragraph 17-. at that time, the life-saving direction that we receive from jehovah’s organization may not appear practical from a human standpoint.
all of us must be ready to obey any instructions we may receive, whether these appear sound from a strategic or human standpoint or not.. i think i know what the instructions will be.it's nothing new.

Be ready to obey? -- It is the next command coming that will be scary. Wt would not be the first promised thousand year reign to end prematurely, many were forced into obeying, all suffered. -

what was there before the big bang? perhaps the same condition that still exists now "outside" the expanding universe. The before is the same as the outside, an eternal realm that we, on the move through time only touch fleetingly in the moving, zero- length "now". May be we are like the sprinters in the upcoming Olympics, the race starting with a little bang, but there is a bigger, static arena, through which we move. When I use "we" it would mean all things , included in the universe.
