Questions for the Biblical God
by Saethydd ini consider myself an agnostic, i feel no sense of certainty that there is a single all-powerful creator who made the entire universe, and yet i must acknowledge that the universe is a large place that is filled with much beauty so the possibility of an intelligent mind being behind it is certainly there.
lately, however, i do have more and more doubts about the god of the bible being a candidate for that all-powerful creator should such a being even exist at all.. these doubts are founded upon a number of questions for which i have never found any satisfying biblical or logical answer.
instead, i was simply chided with the remark that "god's actions aren't always meant to be understood by humans," which i found to be a very unsatisfying answer.

2 Questions for the wt,bible god:
1) did you expect us to read the bible, your word? --Then
2). why did you not read it yourself, first; proofreading for scientific errors, before publishing it?

GLT: "-That assumes a materialist point of view, that the creator would be of the same substances (matter, energy, space, time) as the things created.
not really, it assumes only that the first dimension, time, is fundamental and eternal.
The supposed creator of the multiverse would appropriately totally extend in that eternal dimension, but not moving through it,- as we do. He would always be bigger=older as his creation. no matter how big it gets. whereas the OP argues, that
a bigger creation= multiverse would shrink the creator by comparison.
Time is a dimension, what we experience is movement through time.
What really has shrunk is our ego , because we assumied we were quite significant, in the days the bible was written. We still live in the center of the universe though, but not the supposed multiverse.

Name one Watchtower date that they got correct
by FatFreek 2005 init was the year 2011. remember that one?
surprise, surprise -- it wasn't one of their predictions.
it was from one of their competitors, harold camping.. "religious leaders sometimes predict tragic worldwide events to warn mankind and gather followers.

let us suppose there is a multiverse that was made from nothing, since nothing has zero size, unless the multiverse made itself, the making maker must at that zero point in time have been bigger than the embryonic multiverse, but by how much? if that maker is eternal, he is infinitely older and larger. so:
The wt/bible god, the walker in the garden of eden might have become proportionally smaller, the creator only bigger, the bigger the multiverse, the bigger it's creator.or?

Garden of Eden
by Onager inwhere is the garden of eden?.
i don't mean where in the world, i mean where in history.

The mythical tree of life was among all the fruit good to eat, or good tea leafs. there was only one forbidden tree in the garden, If Adam & Eve must have been encouraged to eat from it, they must have been created mortal, and required to sustain themselves by a total diet from the garden, so,
maybe what they thought to be swords, were really propellers, blowing a lot of hot air.
we all got fooled by the talking snake story for a while.

The definition of a false prophet
by HereIgo inthe last time i spoke to my mother, who is a devout jw, she threatened me with typical jw scare tactics telling me how oh so close the end is and how me and my 2 young daughters will be slaughtered by god himself in armageddon.
knowing that this is just a scare tactic, i respectfully listened, then replied that the jw's have wrongfully predicted the end of the world three times and were incorrect, 1914, 1925, 1975. i asked doesn't that make them false prophets?
her response; " no, because the brothers are imperfect and jehovah knew their heart was in a sincere place.

well, I hope they are false, and failed prophets indeed. for : in the Kingdom Rules book they are currently studying, page 228, paragraph 16 wt writers give this prophesy:
" --co-rulers with Christ will receive authority-- wielding an iron rod of destruction against all enemies of "god's kingdom", in other words you and I. and
do not hold your breath to see divine vengeance against wolves in sheep clothing, that false prophets really are, - to be executed, because . no other wt, bible threat has ever materialized, except in retrospect.

Saethydd you asked: "You can? I'm not familiar with them. Could you post them here?
Rev 9:10, 11:10, 14:10 20:10 The bible god put them there, for those that want to take them literally, and billions did, and some still do.
death and decay are needed for the systems of the universe, as they currently exist, to be balanced and progressive.
good point. This Universe has as a feature progression through time into the future. To keep on the move, proceed and progress , develop into something perhaps better, it seems to have to work as it does.
added: Most likely your kind of an ideal universe, would have to be a static, sterile one, with no progression, handcrafted in one shot. by contrast
The bible god is, after all an invention of the bible writers, limited and sincere they possibly all were, in their time. We have moved on, and the creator's works, not supposed words, works, that we see so much better than those before us, should be the new guide to answer your questions.
The creator is not silent, because works speak louder than words.
Pain is generated only in the brain, the mind, and I have a true story to tell about that.
p,s, sorry to have hijacked this thread, I am not advocating the discourse with or about the bile/wt god. [typo], I meant bible.

the spirit realm where angels and god supposedly reside would prove that a system of life can exist without such
I can think of bible passages that prove that pain and misery exist in that supposed biblical spirit realm too, even eternally. . right? so:
We have to observe nature, its laws and use it, and face reality. Pain might be more tolerable in many cases than we think, without predation, vegetarians would destroy the planet, the "design" is a balance. do not take suffering so personal. Because It is not getting any better than you can make it, that seems the message from the maker.*
*The maker* can not possibly be also the author or proofreader of the bible and wt literature. bsw.

Saethydd, you asked: Why would a creator with such a high regard for life specifically design a universe in which all life slowly decays?
because slow decay, and also violent ends, provides for screening of desirable outcomes in life's evolution as well as in inanimate mature. example,
generations of stars died, faded away, or compressed in violent collapses, Super Novae.
both types of death have produced all the abundant element we need, all made from Hydrogen.
Dying is good for us, as a whole. possibly done without the creator lifting so much of a finger, after the creation event.
not speaking for the wt/bible god here, but a possible creator, defined only as observed by the action of his creation.
