Pioneering - the best job in the world!

how often did i hear those words at circuit or district assemblies - that pioneering was the best job in the world?

how often did i hear a fake job advert for pioneering where there was 100% job satisfaction working for the most powerful person in the universe and you'd get to travel the world and live forever.... i've done both jobs and would say that the job advert should more honestly read like this:.

secular job.

but many that did it got what they asked for, as long you did not think that it was later than you think.

Where Are You From?

alot of members don't have a flag or country name beside their user name, and well frequently one doesn't know where that particular person is from, tell us your country, state, county or what ever you feel like giving out.

if you are going to post please at least devulge your country.. me, i'm originally from taranaki, new zealand via auckland.

Does an "all knowing" God have the leisure of choosing not to know something?

this concept just always caused a conflict in my mind.

i can remove the idea of predestination with knowing something in advance, why would the watch tower insist that god chooses not to know something?

is that even possible for god?

If we take this debate out of the domain of fables, greek fire-bringers, talking snakes, spare-rib-cloned females. etc:

looking at the universe, the reality, it appears (if there is a creator)* he had an extraordinary amount of foreknowledge to assure that with a hot and disorganized beginning it would evolved into what we live in and observe and see. try (astronomy picture of the day).

Assuming that he predated creation and does not MOVE through TIME as the universe does, he would able to view as our future unfolds AT HIS LEASURE.

The CYRUS story notwithstanding there seems to be no historical fore sight intervention that concerns me.

choices we make are limited by natural laws. Could the creator that made all this functioning immensity predict single event outcomes? surely.

as far as we can tell he exists well within the bounds of the glass-ceiling confinement of the infamous WT illustration.

* It would require an extraordinary demonstration to show me that the creation created itself. ( and can be replicated)

Weird "new world" artwork from the 2013 calendar

my mother-in-law has a strange obsession with calendars, and orders the society's calendar each year.

this year's calendar is especially weird.

it features images depicting future events - in particular, the society's vision of the new world order.. i've taken the opportunity to scan some of the images for you all to check out.. please note - there are captions for each of the images, but i don't have the english language version of the calendar so i'd rather just quote the scripture used so as not to reveal which country i'm in.. .

if the bible can have talking snakes why can WTBtS not have their own fables? like those rice terraces do not need to be perfectly level, for rice will grow in delicious mint jell-oo. Those railing posts were >4"code in the bad old world for the babie's sake, now with the earth filled, 10" is ok. Humans were perfect 6000 years ago, so the brave new world uses perfect 6000year old building technics design. thatched roofs! cool. redo every few years for eternity. no glass to be seen, (we do not want to deplete the sahrah' sand). sail technology also returned to the stone age. square and lateen riggers only . but they seem to have auto-furl ( thats the angel wing illusion).

what takes away salvation

i am certain that the watchtower society is of the devil , they tell so many lies to cover up their false doctrines and satan is the father of all lies .

so logically somewhere in those false doctrines there is something that prevents the rank and file from receiving salvation as satan works so hard to keep them in "the truth " does anyone else agree with that statement ?

if so, what is it in their teaching that keeps them from the free gift of salvation that comes by the grace of god alone ?

I see 2 issues here, with very intelligent and articulate proponents.

1) if you believe in talking snakes, fantastic floods, spare-rib females, the WT BtS is one of your kind, and not serving (to partake) the "life-giving" symbols of salvation to the majority of your followers "dooms" them to eternal death. add your preferred salvation requirements per dogma of your other, own denomination.

2) if you dont believe in these un-natural stories, then make the best of your gifts and who knows? is it just eternal death? entropy?

I had the wrong glasses on and when you wrote: "---free the prisoners--" I read "-- free the pioneers--" anyway, I am throuigh with all that preaching that still seems to be in your pre-occupation. I gave my 10% as Jesus did. If there was no talking snake we do not need salvation. If there was no rib-surgery, our wives are even better, more gloriously different. vivre la difference.

thank you for the images, beauty from the past. fossils in light of past work in progress. Kurtbethel I could imagine your photo above as a marble countertop in our kitchen.

a permanent flower-gift for my hardworking wife. No matter how all the good debates in this forum turn out, if we as a start had pictures of reality like this to look at, it would give us a humbling perspective. If the past is this beautiful, artwork about the future looks bleak. These images are non-denominational too.

It gives you a sense of time too. these images were sent, or departed into the future ~ 2000 years ago and arrive here now out of the past.

School for Congregation Elders

i attended the school late last year, and it was an emotional and mental rollercoaster for me.

i was already divided in my heart to say the least.

one of the instructors stayed in my home for the week, and my family genuinely enjoyed his company.

we can vouch for the " Jehovah will forgive mistakes (by the org) but will never forgive disobedience to the org" teaching as not just a slip of the tongue of the particular instructor: The Big Cheese elder in this neck of the woods reported it to the congregation with the clear intention to cement power and give hints to the fate of stragglers.

How dare they put words in jehovahs mouth? or are they jehovah? who asked who is jehovah?

it seems so. of course concept of the "annointed", as opposed to christians at large is a wt invention. all christians are workers in the field, gods field.

some might sometimes feel---to loosely quote a line from fiddler on the roof "--- sometimes I wish he would dignify somebody else--". so: this idea of god humbling himself and letting us do the hard lifting is tailored to make the willing workers feel good. working in virgin territory, we were not even planting or watering, we were plowing, slash and burning.

The annointed versus OS divide gets accentuated not when it comes to work, responsabilities, but in areas involving status, privileges, position.

Try to get out of this two - tier thinking. All christians are in the twelve tribes of the Israel of God. Rev. 7 . leave it to the angels/god to decide who is especially sealed to be martyred and to be in close rulership with Christ. nobody on earth knows for sure. Enjoy Gods works

not to discredit the efforts of the artists that are dicussed, dissected on related topics, but how do these stunning images make you feel? awe? admiration? energy bursting out from these new stars? one (not overlapping) generation of lightyears spanning that image? what are we heckling about here on earth?

the fact is that so many indians exist in a poverty so deep that it's difficult for westerners to even understand.

the youngest of the rapists in the now world known rape story, according to this uk, independent newspaper story, grew up in that world that seems hopeless.
