"Jesus died for Judas too"? what I meant is, at the time of pronouncing John Chapter 6 and the passing of the emblems, (and Judas perhaps partaking), the ransom was carte-blanche offered for all. Judas betrayal as the "son of destruction" took place BEFORE the giving and presenting of the ransom, so for two reasons, it did finally not benefit him. But while with Jesus at the meal, it was legitimate to partake. Jesus did not stop him.

Jesus died for all, even Judas, that he,- AFTER (perhaps) partaking did the deed of betrayal, was his big undoing. (he would not be the last one to be replaced, see the past - 1935 "replacements only" wt flip-flop debacle).

Good point that you differentiated between the New Covenant (the emblems) for forgiveness and the later that night and earlier proposed KINGDOM rule covenant !!!

PTERIST: The whole old nation of Israel was " a kingdom of priests" in the sense that it was the distinct national business to mediate, or provide a venue between mankind and God (as the story goes). like:

"The business of America is BUSINESS" quote. so would it not be the same, for the whole Christian Congregation?

If there is any, clearer, more profound truth behind the unbelievable bible fables,

could the material (earthly) resurrection perhaps really be UNIVERSE-wide?

when the universe cools, expands, peters out -- (peter's prediction of a new heavens and earth notwithstanding), will all significant creatures have a heavenly, spiritual transformation into heaven? .

So, for me: The jury is out on that one. on all counts.

Are we all bitter?

i posted a link on fb that lead to a topic here.

i then had one of my 'friends' start having a go about how bitter everyone is here....fact he said.

(he used to be a jw elder but left a while back, not sure why he left or if he has even researched the faith since leaving) the more i tried to reason with him that actually it is a support forum, the more he lashed out that everyone here bad mouths the jw's and only attack the jw's.

Pickler: good comments all; you said: " not bitter, --do not need the forum--? well: we are glad the forum provides solace, outlet for the bitter. but:

the forum is also great to discuss and clarify ideas, provide interesting insights or unheard topics and angles for lurkers and all.

and of course we feel with those that had their life and families devastated while innocent, by the WT BtS and/or abusive Elder actions.

Not all here are bitter, because I, for one, am not. I am not sure my life, or anybody else's would have been better, (rather than different) without the WT BtS involvement, given the pro and cons , uncertainty of life any- and everywhere.

The Past is gone forever, bitterness is too much of a down - drag to carry for long.

We are all playing with a new set of cards that were dealt now, so:

make the best of it, because it is.

Question re: Anointed, Last Supper, Pentecost, Ressurrection??

i've been away from the wts so many years, my memory on certain things is rather fuzzy.

my question is if the holy spirit wasn't poured out til pentecost, how does the last supper come in to play when the apostles weren't even anointed then?

so why is the anointed only to partake of the wine and bread?.

S&R : also, when Jesus as recorded in John. 6,-- spoke of the drinking and eating of the SYMBOLIC blood and flesh, he was speaking to people with no inkling of a heavenly calling and he mentioned "everlasting life" (the material kind) not immortality the approved heavenly permanent life.

One has to give up everlasting life to gain immortality.

the laws of health dictates that if we abuse our body and neglect our diet and health, we pay a price in our bodies.

our health deterioriates and we get sick and diseased.

Ding: of course thats why ALL should partake, to get the benefit of the (cup) of the new covenant so that

they LATER might (as the apostles did at Pentecost ) receive the higher calling. but basically

the bread and wine are for the forgiveness of sin, not the heavenly kingdom. yet.

John 6:--- no partaking ,--no everlasting life.

no everlasting life to give up, in sacrifice as Jesus did,

no immortality in heaven. as the song says,

you cant have one without the other.

evryone wants to go to heaven,

nobody wants to die.

fortunately, i don't have an arrest record.. but i was arrested one day walking through a parking lot when a young woman was struggling to exit her low-slung sports car with no knickers on..
