Retirement Planning for ex-JW's

this is something i think about a lot, possibly because i'm just getting older.

it seems that not only should i finally one day decide what i want to do with my life, but i should also be planning for retirement.. hands up everyone who feels their future has been royally screwed by the wts experience?.

if you were a good jw and followed the wts advice you could well be finding yourself facing middle or even old age without much or anything put aside in retirement savings.

I gave examples of peer2peer lending which can achieve 6% on cash deposits. Stock market investments should hopefully earn more Simon yeah, If you do not have to cash out your energy stock when oil prices are down.

A 6% return is doable, in real estate related papers. I know of a $ 70 000.- account that has given the mandatory senior payout of 7000,- per year for a decade, and has still 50 000 in the balance. money is magnetic, it attract money.

The best retirement advice imo: get a government job, municipal, federal, state, province. invest your disposable income in real estate; buy and rent out, when you sell,-- you hold the mortgage, double your selling income. If you are the money person, do not get divorced.

Save $1,000 a month for 25 years and get 7% returns and you will have nearly $1m to retire on over and above any state provisions you may be entitled to. Simon.

Many savers can not reach that goal of 7% not when the prime is .5 % and the banks give mortgages under 3%. Too much saving might cost you in reduced government guaranteed old age supplements. Move to a country with publicly financed health care. apply to be a refugee.

Be wary of mutual funds, charging 2% per year, In 25 years it will eat away half your investments, compounded.

i've only told two people about this (one being john cedars) for fear of getting this guy into trouble, but it's very telling and will reaffirm your "ttatt faith!

a couple of weeks ago, i had to have an "ability to protect" assessment by a gentleman from a company that also investigates child protection policies etc.

kookie Wish some legal would look into elders escorting known criminal pedophiles out in field service like they are the police, I mean if they believe they are repentant and allowed to witness why escort them in case.

The elders always have the option to assign the questionable and troublemakers to the "hall group" and assign the children to the safest homes around. . but these assignments would make the leadership liable, if the householder too lost control or even were unaware of the situations. should have never happened in spiritual paradise.

In some third world countries, all meetings were held on one afternoon in sequence, publishers really could not afford the time and expenses to come 3 times a week. but in other places, the book study was a great occasion to get out, you were already bathed and dressed up, so why not make a few calls, even H2H coming and going? and then it was always fun to see the conductor sweating by questions, comments. It forced all the "servants," elders to really be prepared, whereas now with only one "conductor" and 30 second comments, the heat has been turned off. less spiritual thinking, interaction. The same with the cancelled circuit Overseers extra day, the 8 day conventions , the 2 day circuit meetings. isolate, isolate ;isolate. divide and conquer.

The meeting in homes churches was one practice to be traced back to the acts of the apostles, letters. . My take of the cancellation? the separate book study proved to be the breeding ground for interesting comments. better to regain centralized power. as to this "revelation"? a real ego trip, to single handedly change the course of 8 million believers.

For deep true believers, if they are, they imagine they use a kind of scientific approach to doctrine. : 1) you have a theory /hypothesis, 2) you conduct experiments to verify it. 3) if there is no match ( the past wt experience 100%), you have another stab at it. 4) repeat with another set of ideas, aka new light.

1914 was a lucky hit, but only the date. Every detail of what they predicted was wrong.

It is like They are throwing balls in an amusement park, trying to get a hit for a useless toy, with publisher picking up the tab, an illusion for the players and the payers, somebody is laughing all the way to the bank, if you wake up, it is with indigestion from the cotton candy " food in due season"
