The Disaster scenario, scrambling out with a backpack is perhaps an isolating technique, an option exploitable by wt. If you live outside a 500 year flood zone, better to stick around home, with camper truck ready to roll, cook , sleep, eat in the yard, firewood , supplies already at at hand. scenarios differ. imagine if Abraham had stayed put and now would own all that ME oil. -

JWs have more good points than bad
by lsw1961 in1) many who were on the destructive path have been transformed by their teachings (this includes me who was once vicious, and presumptuous and atheistic).
2) equal monthly pay to all members of the bethel community regardless of whether they are bc members or sweepers.
this is something that still remains as an unattainable dream for the world.

JWs have more good points than bad.?-- yes some individuals do,-- but the WTBtS through it's teachings, operations does not.
take your time here please to see how those teachings totally destroy the claimed good. and the good will be better in better, freer settings.

I have learnt a lot on various subjects, especially since at my time Awake was published twice a month each having 32 pages and the layout was not as "airy" as today.
yeah, it had those little filler items. to use all the space available. in one of them they quoted reader's digest, that birds opened their feathers on the upstroke and closed them on the downstroke,*** an old wrong myth, the opposite is true, and when called on it, the writer later snuck in the correction in a barely related topic. ha. so,don't brag about your non-education at ga college.
***In flight, birds do not flap their wings to push the air down to climb. The flapping is akin to the flapping of fishes ',- wales' tailfins to generate forward thrust. Opening the feathers on the downstroke, particularly at the tips creates more flexible flapping surfaces pushing air backward.
I learned that awake,is not yet in the ga golden age of science

lsw1961 welcome ! --do I hear a slavic accent? have you lived through the Stalin years? working in a state-owned enterprise? belonged to the pioneers? everybody is "tovarich", but some are more "rich" than others? like in bethel. equal in the race to the bottom? flying first class? To quote a source you should be familiar with: "Religion is opium for the people", and this "bible -based" religion is no exception. No doubt opiates are painkillers, a real benefit, and withdrawal can be shattering, but has to done to face and enjoy reality, better sooner than later.
Keep posting and reading here and the sites mentioned above. and see not only the good but the better. karashov ++

tuesday, midweek.: Imitation Faith book "study". Noah's ark floating above Mt. Everest, after 200 meters per day rains. or perhaps Noah's strong faith transported Everest and all mountains into the Marianas trench; it is possible according to Math 21:21, and the ark just lifted only so so, and Noah did not shed a tear as he waved his mother, relatives goodby at the pier.
Then the bible reading: How long does it take for God to realize his mistake and repent, relent? the bible answer? 2-3 days., because he regretted to have killed so many over David's counting publishers, -erhem- member totals .
Sunday's wt. "study" standing firm in the faith and on water. really. Jesus, Peter walking on water, not ice, water! what?
If your faith is as good and solid as these stories-- deepest sympathies. wt water week.

Retirement Planning for ex-JW's
by Simon inthis is something i think about a lot, possibly because i'm just getting older.
it seems that not only should i finally one day decide what i want to do with my life, but i should also be planning for retirement.. hands up everyone who feels their future has been royally screwed by the wts experience?.
if you were a good jw and followed the wts advice you could well be finding yourself facing middle or even old age without much or anything put aside in retirement savings.

I gave examples of peer2peer lending which can achieve 6% on cash deposits. Stock market investments should hopefully earn more Simon yeah, If you do not have to cash out your energy stock when oil prices are down.
A 6% return is doable, in real estate related papers. I know of a $ 70 000.- account that has given the mandatory senior payout of 7000,- per year for a decade, and has still 50 000 in the balance. money is magnetic, it attract money.
The best retirement advice imo: get a government job, municipal, federal, state, province. invest your disposable income in real estate; buy and rent out, when you sell,-- you hold the mortgage, double your selling income. If you are the money person, do not get divorced.

Save $1,000 a month for 25 years and get 7% returns and you will have nearly $1m to retire on over and above any state provisions you may be entitled to. Simon.
Many savers can not reach that goal of 7% not when the prime is .5 % and the banks give mortgages under 3%. Too much saving might cost you in reduced government guaranteed old age supplements. Move to a country with publicly financed health care. apply to be a refugee.
Be wary of mutual funds, charging 2% per year, In 25 years it will eat away half your investments, compounded.

Jeb Bush would kill a baby !
by Simon inok, specifically he was talking about hitler.
apparently he was asked whether, if he could go back in time, he would kill him when he was a baby.. and he said "hell yeah !".
but still wtf?

killing babies seems to be a favoured passe - time of some in power. Solomon was ready to do it, greatly increasing the fear he instilled in his subjects. The angel at passover time certainly showed his power that way. and then the camps, the cities. not just Sodom either. -

Holy Grail of Free Energy Might be Possible
by cofty inevery chloroplast in every green leaf on planet earth is wonderfully efficient at absorbing energy from the sun.
in combination with a complex protein enzyme h2o molecules are gently eased apart and combined with co2 to produce energy and oxygen.. a synthetic version of this process would make unlimited, clean cheap energy possible but it has so-far eluded chemical engineers.
until now..... researchers at florida state university have discovered a method of using manganese oxide also known as birnessite to capture sunlight and then use that solar energy to create an oxidation reaction read more....

from the stored energy in plants we can ferment, distill alcohol, so, are there any life enhancing substances in the pipe line from this process, and is it pretty like plants? or can the plants that do this be made pretty like plants?
