I just checked Amazon.com. They have Chinese version which is a little bit different than the one that I used.

Yes, I used to go to a school to learn how to use it and how to calculate in my head (without an abacus or calculator). It was a long long time ago when I was 4th or 5th grade, I think. I was getting pretty good at it. But my mom made me quit for some reason.
Where can I get one? At Amazon.com?

Anyone here close to Napa Valley?
by NoBorg inhow close?
do you drink wine?
would you call yourself an eonophile?

I have to drive at least a couple of hours north to get to Napa Valley, I think. Compare to SF, Napa is a country side. If you love wine and gourmet foods, I think Napa Valley should be one of your stops.
This is the best time to visit SF Bay Area. Sky is blue and air is crisp. Please don't forget to stop by at the Fishermen's Warf in SF, and ride one of those tour boats. You'll love it. Oh, don't forget to bring a nice jacket or sweater, too.

Is It Possible To Reason With A Typical Jehovah's Witness?
by minimus infrom what i can see, it's nearly impossible to reason with a witness, even if you might consider them somewhat intelligent.
-
sunshineToo
No, they cannot reason. Their governing body has to give them the answers. Otherwise they get lost and scared. They only think in the way that the up state guys want them to think. And by following their "guidelines", a typical jw thinks he/she is exercising a free will.

I, too, do not understand your question. Do you mean, "Who are you?" or "Whose are you?" as "Whose side are you?"
Besides I still have problem believing or understanding the Trinity. I think the Bible itself is written so unclearly on that matter. Up until the Gospels, everything seems to be clear. But when Paul came along, things started to get confusing. Hmm...I'm not sure if I like that Paul that much.

I going to picket my parents convention this weekend!
by Atilla inok, my parents have pissed me off so much with their denial and their refusal to even acknowledge my complaints against the borg.
they pretend everything is perfect at the kingdom hall and expect me to play nice to their dub friends so as to protect their own reputation.
this weekend in philadelphia, they are going to to their little convention and i have some evil thoughts.

Well, if you don't have any topic that can effect non-jws, it won't work much.
By the way, if sword of jah reads my reply, I found out that most people in the world already know that jws are cult members. That's why you can so many door slamed in the field service. Smart people, I say.

lonliness after leaving
by orbison11 injust wondering, did any of you become hermit like after leaving.
i see many of you are able to carry on.
maybe with the help of non-jw family, etc.. but for me, i lost all family and i am having a hard time with acquiring friends, although i have many many aquaintances.

orbi, I am very sorry for what you are going through now. For me I had my boyfriend and other friends when I DA'd. My mom is still a jw, and gave me a hard time. Fortunately rest of the family aren't jws, and they have been supportive. Now my boyfriend and I are married for almost 2 years. We just bought our first house and expecting our first child - a boy.
As unique1 said "worldly" ( I hate to use this term for non-jw people) people are much nicer. I've talked to some people (neighbors and collegues), and they have been so supportive and caring. Reach out, orbi.
I also got so busy with my work as well. You can focus on your career as a way of distraction, too.
Visit this site a lot, please. This forum has helped me a lot, and I'm sure it will do the same for you, too.
See you around!

Been asked to sing at a wedding
by Nosferatu inokay, i can just picture me dressed up in drag, singing "do you really want to hurt me", lol!.
but seriously, my buddy is getting married sept 5, and he and his fiance have asked me if me & my wife would sing at his wedding.
seems like the cd we gave out at the wedding is creating some opportunities (one of my dad's friends bought a copy of the cd).

Oh, you and your wife are singers? What kind of songs do you sing? I used to accompany singing students when I was at college - mostly classics: operas and Lieder (Art songs).
