well since nightwarrior and i have declined from attending the kh, our little road has never been touched, especially since september 2002.. our neighbours are so grateful, as the jws were knocking on the doors more or less every 2 weeks, now no sign, not even during the week, when you could at least guarantee that the 'map' needed working.

Well, according to my mom, who is a jw in a Korean cong., there are big falling outs in all American congregations, but huge increase in other ethnic congregations such as Koreans. They just devided and added another congregation to their hall. It could be possible that fewer are going out these days. I just hope they would never get to go out so that no more innocent victims would fall into their cult.

I have to say that there are some similarties between N.Korea and the WTS. But the leader of N.Korea is the nutcase of all. Even his dad (Kim Il Sung) worried about him, and I was taught that the big dady was the most evil of all. As far as I know current leader (Kim Jung Il) is very dangerous man. He might even go as far as nuke war just to commit suicide.
sigh.......I still have relatives in S.Korea. One nuke will be enough to ruin entire (both North and South) Korea.
my formal education ended with high school.
i did a couple of semesters of college work but it really doesnt count.
i believe that almost any kind of legal employment is honorable depending on how we approach it.

I agree with you on that the degree has nothing to do with the person's real intelligence. I've seen supposedly intelligent people making very unintelligent decisions and supposedly uneducated people making very intelligent decisions and thinking admirably intelligently. It all comes down to conscience and heart.
I also know some jws with degrees from the most prestigious colleges. But are they really intelligent? I talk to one of them through email about the Watchtower's false prophesies and misguidances (esp. not letting people go to colleges was really stupid) and not to mention pedophile problems. She said that she can understand my view but it was fine with her. She doesn't think that a child without knowingly sitting with a pedophile is a problem.
You know, the Bible is right. A lot of love and care have cooled off. As long as it is not their problem, no matter how much hurting it is to others, "Everything is fine and just."
I say she wasted her college tuition.

Please pay attention to some of the advices given here eps. "Be careful on your decision making."
It is tough out there. Even adults with college degree living with their spouses struggle these days. I don't know where you live, but I just hope that your rent is not too high for you and your friend. Be careful. I've seen some young people moving out with their friends and coming back home with debt and losing everything they owned once.
I don't know what your "sin" was, but if you act up badly(?), it's going to make the Elders look even better to the congregation. That means the parents will go tighter on their children in the congregation. If you really want to get out, talk to some of the closest friends and relatives you have if they are not jws. Plan carefully.

just been clearing some space in my house and deciding what to get rid of.i have a whole rack of "meeting clothes" shirts , suits ties etc that i have never worn since i left.i kept a few shirts and a couple of suits just in case i need them sometime.what a load of money those clothes most have cost me.one extra good reason for leaving, and think of all those dry cleaning bills you'll miss as well.bad luck if you work in an office.
Are you kidding????? All those nice suits and dresses!!!! I'm keeping them. Like Elsewhere, I'll be ready when a formal event comes along.
