Hi, Lisa!
I'm an ex-jw. Welcome to the board, and I'm happy to hear that you've found a religion that you are happy with. That is a blessing.

minimus, those were the evidences!!!!
i just stepped out into my back yard and thought i was going to melt.
i was going to fill up the inflatable pool for my son, but by the time it gets filled up, the water will be about 90 and not worth the bother.
i'm sure that other california people can relate to this.
S.F. Bay Area made over 100F today. 105 in my town. That's a record in 20 years.
hey, .
are there any current or ex-graduate students (hopefully graduated :0) on the board?

This week's left over. There were some fried chicken, caesar salad, rice and diet Dr. Pepper. But now I'm in the mood for some curry. ;)
i've seen soooo many witnesses taking meds or alcohol because of unhappiness and depression.
i know of one woman who regularly gos to her shrink and is the most depressed person that i know of.
personally, i believe it's because a jw can never do enough to satisfy god or the elders....what do you think?
I was going to commit a suicide. My life as a jw was hopeless. When I decided to kill myself, I felt better. When I got out of that terrible organization, I found a happiness that I had never known before. My life had a new beginning full of hope and possibilities.
OFG, those are really beautiful pictures.
Xjw4evr, the humidity is going to work wonders on your skin. When I went to Korea in July 6 years ago, I was so shocked how humid it was. I grew up there but it had been 15 years so I forgot the weather. However, everyone had a flawless skin. I was the only slop in shorts and T-shirt with frizzy hair. Oh, yeah, the humidity can do that to your hair, too.
I love California weather (S.F. Bay Area.)
It'll be 88 F here tomorrow. I've been living in upper 80s - 100 F. for last 2 weeks. I think I'm getting used to it. In fact hot weather is an excuse for using my new gas grill. BBQ anyone?
i've been a member of the site for a month, but have been reading the posts for a lot longer, however this is my first post.
i was raised a j-dub by my mother (my father wasn't religious) with my sister and brother.
i was pretty much convinced by my dub friends, bible study conductor, and mother that i should get baptized when i was 15 and decided to go for it.
jrjr,
First, welcome to the board!
Being reinstated doesn't just mean that you can freely associate with your family. It also means that now you have an obligation to the organization. If you don't fulfill or don't agree, what's going to happen? 2nd DF, perhaps. Maybe you can be inactive after the reinstatement. Whatever works.
well, i been "living in sin" for about 5 days now and aside from an elder asking if i was gonna still do a talk i was scheduled for this past monday (i told him no of course.
he knows i moved out and only asked about my literature) i finally worked the nerve to download the application for this season's america's next top model.
i've been modeling for some time now and i figured what the hell...i have nothing to lose but $3.95 in postage.
stilla,
Go for it, girl! I'll root for you. By the way Jayla was a jw? She sure didn't sound or act like one.
