thank for posting these photos.
looking up wikipedia it says that the fine is up to 40,000 pesos (US$80) but none the less its still compromising their/our polictical neutrality.
it seems that Peru has a very similar thing with the Fiestas Patrias during the month July and its obligitory for homes, offices buildings, public and private institutions, schools and restaurants to fly the flag.
i wonder if kingdom halls in Peru compromise in a similar fashion.

What's "THE END" going to look like?
by Coded Logic inokay, so its no secret that many of us are hoping to see the downfall of the wtbts (or at least a mass exodous of jws away from them anyway).
i was wondering if you had any thoughts on what this might look like?.
we all know that most every jw has their doubts, large and small, but is afraid to speak due to the illusion of unanimity and self censorship .

while most of us would like to seeing the organisation suddenly burning down in front of an angry mob, i feel that unfortunatly it will just wither away into obscurity like the salvation army and the other adventist faiths out there. what we should see from the society's history with things like the "tail waging the dog" prophecies, the mexican cultural scandel and the blood concessions, is that the GB are willing to burn doctrine, people and anything else when it suits their needs. They are not that dumb to let their money bleed out to nothing. and so it if means that the organisation has to shrink to one complex and have the website is maintained on some server in india, thats what they'll do. of course no one knows the timing of these things but with every change they have made, it has only has enboldened them to make more and so i'm sure we have'nt seen the end of interesting times.

144,000 New Light update
by goingthruthemotions ini updated the list of partakers to 2013 (see below)...if i was to predict as to what new light might be coming down the borg poop shoot may be.
i would predict that they need to do something about the 144,000 being a literal number.. for two reasons:.
1. the number of partakers is increasing every year.

we had our CO visit recently and first half of the sunday GB scripped service talk was dicated to change. how doctrinal change proves we are in the truth. the GB over the years has conditioned the average brother and sister to accept any change. they use many different methods as you all know and ultimately if it sounds just too hard believe, the "where else will we go" put out there. we all know that even we (who concider ourselves mentally free) still feel twinges of guilt or remorce or some other pavlovian dog reaction from time to time, so what about the other fully in. i'm sorry friends but the GB could say in print that they are real apostles or that we're all going to mars to live and it would be accepted as "new light". thinking for yourself is banned, so no one does it any more.

the question i have is, is this change dirrectly commented on in print or is it seen in more anecdotal evidence?.

thanks for the article donuthole. so much of the organisation evolved over time without dirrect wt comment. where a teaching or a view was implied as a way to soften up the bros. and in time it became an unquestioned doctrine. so its good to find something in print. thanks again. its funny though when i think about it, because i remember the convention when they introduced the term "gradualism" to discribe how the world changes people. little did i realize then, how the organisation had already mastered that technique on us. and now with the deliberate move to the digital medium (and with this crazy tablet fad) how eazy it will be to drop embarasing publications or "up date" them when the need appears.

there was no sinister intent in my question, nor am i a russellite. however the change in dirrection would have been quite major at the time i suspect and i thought that there might have been interesting wt comments about it. i wonder if the bro's in rutherfords time thought "this is not the same religion i got baptised into" when concidering the change.

"at that time, the lifesaving direction that we receive from jehovahs organization may not appear practical from a human standpoint.
all of us must be ready to obey any instructions we may receive, whether these appear sound from a strategic or human standpoint or not.".

the problem of downsizing the door-to-door work is that the whole structure of the meetings is based around it. for what purpose would the meetings then serve? gone are the days of actually teaching whats in the bible. even just the hint of making witnessing voluntary, would see it stop virtually overnight.
