  Is there Intelligent life ?

  Oops! Sorry RHW I meant the Aussie one. She actually looks at the palm of her hand before she waves. Kinda like 'oh theres my hand...whats it for again....oh waving, ok im waving now'

  Gifts- bribery or an act of love

  often i hear about guys who are in the proverbial doghouse with their girlfriend and/or spouse (though both at the same time is very messy and not recommended- lol).

  9 of 10 times the discussion then revolves around how to get out of the doghouse.

  flowers, candies, sparkling trinkets, trips etc are thrown out as the "accepted" way to gain forgiveness.

  After reading all of the above I feel I must have the weirdest relationship of all. If either of us has a problem, we simply say 'Hey ....that really pisses me off when.....'and we talk about it and LISTEN to each others point of view, without sulking or going of in a huff. In the 12 years we have know each other I can HONESTLY say we have never raised our voices at each other...maybe at the kids ( joke), but we state our case and get everything out in the open. Neither of us has ever bought a gift for the other to suck up after a disagreement. Gifts after a fight sounds and looks like a big suck job to me, and anyone who lets themselves be bought off with a bunch of flowers deserves everything they get.
  Harsh but true Im afraid.

  Zep!, Im suprised you forgot to mention the blonde girly that turns the letters on Wheel of Fortune. If there ever was an example of intelligent life it was staring us in the face all along. What is her name anyway?

  crisis of conscience,gtr, and all the rest etc.

  i just recieved getile times by coj...i ordered it 2 months ago when i was full into analysing dub doctrine...but since then, i just dont care anymore about dub doctrine or refuting it...but its still an interesting read though.i'm going through it v e r y s l o w l y..... has anyone else read some books from here: [url]www.commentarypress.com[/url].

  "in search of christian freedom" looks interesting?...sign of the last days?...dont all xdubs have to read coc...isn't it a sort of right of passage for you guys?..

  Personally I dont have any great prob's with my family...I havent been to a meeting in around 6 years and dont exactly lead a JW lifestyle, so I guess Ive just disassociated myself. My family have the attitude that their hoping Ill come back to it all and treat me like normal, although the odd WT & A are left open at apropriate pages on the coffee table for my benefit. My husband on the other hand is 'D'ed and has been for about 10 years. His family have no contact and believe me there have been a lot of times when he's needed the emotional support that goes with a family and it hasnt been an option for him. It annoys me no end to see his family go out of their way for others in the congregation, yet there is nothing in the way of emotional support for him. Underneath it all he's still the person that they raised as a child, he just doesnt live his life the way they see correct and for this the punishment is isolation, disdain and rejection.
  It just doesnt seem loving. I understand that they feel they have to protect the 'flock'....but why the family has to take part in all this too is beyond me. Its cruel and its not any wonder he's never made a move to go back to the truth. the fact that I cant get my head around it is the reason I stopped going also.

  Such a pity you dont live in Australia. Triple J, a radio station here in Aus has a talk show every Tuesday afternoon called "Tight Arse Tuesday". People ring in and dob on their friends and family about all the stupid attempts at saving a buck. Its very funny....come on you other Aussie's...back me up.

  Question for Women.

  why is it so hard to read what a woman is really thinking?

  and what are the no no's when trying to ask a woman for a date and how do you know a woman is interested in you?.

  i would really appreciate help, seems i lack in the right touch, tonight i was just told off by a cute lady, i honestly didn't recognized her and made the mistake of telling her so.

  Couldnt help but stick my two cents in on this one. Just a couple of hints, being of the female gender I thought I might be able to help.
  If she says "does this make me look fat"
  Always say no, even if its a lie, but then add, "but hey! you know what does look really good on you...." Women hate to feel insecure with guys, but they really value honesty and compliments always go a long way if their genuine.
  Never take a girl out for the night and then after parking your car, pop the bonnet and remove something that will disable the engine (like the distributor cap) and ask her to put it in her bag and lug it around all night, so your dumb car doesnt get stolen. Believe me a guy did it to me and I wasnt impressed.

  Intelligent Life?.....
  Well to the first question I must answer "I damn well hope so" and the second " There is, but its few and far between". But in all seriousness even if you do believe the Genesis story (havent made my mind up yet) who's to say that we were the first shot at creation, we could be one of many attempts or projects?

  Who is to say what or whom is a geek? This is a pet whinge of mine...growing up as a JW there was this huge pressure before every convention. Getting all these new outfit's and who had the coolest clothes and new hairdo - it was so trivial(when I think back)and shallow. And our mum's seemed to be in on it too although I think secretly they were just trying to marry us off before we did some unspeakable. My mother loves nothing better (even now ) to tell me every last detail of what some JW wore to their wedding and every detail that you never wanted to know about what the cake looked like and the who wore what.
  Most of them were getting married at 18 & 19, basicaly cause they couldnt wait any longer to .....you know and so they just go what the heck and get married and then wake up 6 months down the track and go "what have I married!!!!"
  After 3 shocking relationships with JW guys, all son of elders too, I had enough. All they wanted was eyecandy to hang off their arms at conventions and a quick grope when noone was looking if they could talk you around. One guy actually tried to make me feel guilty that he was turned on by me and told me he had a complaint he refered to as "blue balls" and since i had caused it, couldnt i help him relieve it. Another dated me for 12 months & when my father put the pressure on him to get serious or hit the road he said his father forbade him to marry before armegedon, because he wanted to be sure that the girl would get through too....i wonder if he will?

  Drugs....why?

  im new here, so go easy with me!

  just wanted to know if any one has any idea's or personal experience in regard to drug and alcohol abuse in former jw's.

  all the one's i know have just lost the plot when it comes drugs and alcohol, especially drug use.
