I have been reading crisis of conscience by Ray Franz....what an amazing book. He clearly exposes the GB for what they really are. Its aims and modus operandi are now self centered. It has rushed dates...taken scriptures out of context...sought to control the rank and file ....and misled many. The Emperor has no clothes.......and a paper empire.

after years of a steady diet of misinformation/propaganda which demonizes the world in general and make going to college a cause for removal of priviledges, the brain drain must be enormous, with critical thinking at an all time low and the information age just starting to get in to full swing the future looks bleak for these ceos that run the corporation.
only black and white thinking allowed at the their board meetings, a bunch of yes men being surrounded by a bunch of rubberstamping yes men getting deeper and deeper entrenched in group think, nobody feels comfotable to speak their mind least the be labeled apostate and be burned at the stake/df'd.

by Julia Orwell ini didn't think any of these things really deserved their own threads, so i've cobbled some random observations, incidents and reflections together.
some are sad, like those poor jw school kids i know, and some are warm, like my friendship with my mother.. a year 10 girl who was enrolled in the a level science class was absent: i noticed because i used to be good friends with her jw mother, who recently ranted at me and unfriended me on fb.
i've supervised a couple of aisha's* classes this year, and found her to be a quiet sort of kid who gets on with her work.

excellent posting. good points made. homeschooling is often just another way of controlling and isolating children. ..who then grow up lacking vital social skills...sad and a waste of childhood. there was a publication called the truth that sets you free....but homeschooling seems to be just enforcing lies that deny you freedom.

"this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come.".
this is the entire purpose of going door to door.

Seems they think they own the right to withold bible knowledge. Who the hades do they think they are?.....good points made above re the public seeing the wtbs as cultish and creepy....I'm so glad I'm out of it after 30 years of blindly following the blind. If it really was the Truth then it would be flowing freely without resorting to copyright etc etc...

Children being baptized..?..nothing less than child grooming. In my old congregation increase came just from those born into it....so much for making an informed choice....and woe betide any who subsequently grow up and want out...they face tremendous pressure from family etc to stay in..I'm so glad none of my family ever came in....

Was I too harsh?

since i've been a child my mother has studied on and off with jw's ( i'm now 34) so i've been around it most of my life, i studied on and off myself for around 10 years.
thank's to this site and jwfacts i'll never study or step foot inside a kingdom hall again.

Apostate: From 279 Facebook friends to 81 overnight... thanks MOM!
by sosoconfused inthe drama continues, i log on to facebook this morning and notice that i have about 20 some odd personal messages from people calling me an apostate to they will return to me when i return to jehovah.. all of this based upon my brother informing others that i have "apostate thoughts".
my mother also encourage long-time famil friends to "unfriend" me because i have taken my stand on the side of satan... wow.
don't you just love this international brotherhood.

Whats the most damning of the July 15 2013 changes?
by Crazyguy ina lot of the rank and file at the meetings seem to think some of the changes make more sense but what is the most damning of the changes that may help to wake to some up.
some thing the rank and file will not first see or understand as a big deal?.

just love the overlapping generations bit....on that basis we are also the generation that knew Jesus....crazy!...and the dropping/twisting of the 1914 chronology is also just dodging...the 1986 peace security book had a whole chapter stating that 1914 /generation thing..

the dcs have been going on for a month now, i fully expected to be welcoming new members by now!

we are out here...waiting...thinking...and wondering. so many changes from gb re generation..1914....calling those who think mentally diseased...etc....we are wondering where god is in all this...yep. many witnesses I know are in turmoil as they struggle to make sense of I it all as years and years slip by.....
