by ballistic ina month to go until 2014. .
it's quite a big year (2014) for ex-jws.
you can tell because if you search for 2014 on the forum, the significance of it being 100 years since 1914 has not been lost on ex-jws some of whom pointed out the proximity of it, around 10 years ago.

A radical direction for the WTS - speculation thread.
by besty inwhat might the wts do to counteract growth stagnation and attrition?.
of course they could ditch certain teachings and practices such as blood, shunning and homophobia.. how about if they closed the kingdom hall network (all proceeds back to mothership) and built out more regional mega-churches?

what is interesting..and revealing..about the ending of the CBS is that just a year or so before, they had an full page article in the kingdom ministry where it was emphasized how very important and essential the CBS was........funny how they had a complete reversal later.....

they were just at my door and offered it to me with one of their heartless and scripted presentations.
the religion has just become so dumbed down.

So, here's a new definition of 'apostacy'
by ItsMyLife inif you allow your child to have a part in the nativity play, it's apostacy.
even if the child just stands there, dressed as a an animal.
with no lines.. even if you've been inactive for several months.. talk about extremes and emotional blackmail!.

To DA myself or to go to JC meeting, that is the question
by Crazyguy ini just got done with another visit at my home with two elders and even though i tried to say very little they took anything they could as a disagreement with them as enough to say they may call a jc meeting after they talk to the rest of the elder body.
so since they are planning on dfing me any way, i'm wondering if i should just write a letter or go through with their meeting?.

don't go...don't give them your head on a plate....because if you appear to disagree with them on anything you will be seen as apostate/evil influence on others in the congregation.....best to not turn up ....for the time being you have the power .....

Questions During Meetings...Grounds for Suspicion?

i just wondered how probing questions are handled in most kingdom halls.
are they taken as an indication of an inquisitive mind or a potential source of stumbling for weak members?

...in the 30 years I was an active jw..whenever anyone did try and ask an 'honest' and spontaneous question they were immediately shut down....only printed material study questions were ever allowed..........yet I know that after meetings some brothers/sisters had points to raise but were afraid to express'doubts'.....
