...I suspect many biblical figures would have smoked if smoking option had been available in their time....tobacco wasn't an option was it back then..

JW Kids Who Lack Sincerity: Are You In The Flipping Truth Or Not?
by Apognophos indid any of you know a jw youth who didn't seem to really even try to be sincere about the "truth"?
not someone who led a double life while pretending to be a goody-goody jw.
i mean the kind of kid who went to the meetings and did field service while making minimal effort at maintaining a pretense of being a true believer?.

..I always thought that the real test of genuine jw kids/youngsters was whether they would still stay in if their parents were to leave...but as has been mentioned most youngsters go because there is no other way of living in such a family...conform or face rejection..

such kids/youngsters often had a very black and white view of life..everyone in world was bad and satanic..and all in the hall were true and spiritual....such kids were often mollycoddled by model parents and grandparents who sought hard to reinforce spiritual expectations...and yes some of the youngsters were genuinely nice people...but very knieve....they were conditioned to put their hands up and give pat answers to pat questions...used freely in demonstrations and always ready with prepared paintings for when the circuit overseer was present... grooming.....yes.

Something I have often wondered about....is...where was I before I was made...where did I come from. Yes I know my dad and mum made me...physically...but where did my independent feeling thinking person come from....odd...

one reason for the dumbing down of the org
by Magnum ina lot of us have said that theres been a dumbing down in jw land.
its just not like it used to be especially a few decades ago.
it seems to me that if jw are right and the end of the world is near, the spiritual food should get tastier and more nourishing as time goes on, but it's getting more and more bland and less nourishing.

org is dying
by lambsbottom ini don't understand why so many ex jws and faders think that the jws will continue to grow and thrive as a religion.
i still attend a meeting once a week and you can smell the death of the religion creeping up when you hear the talks, read the study wts and hear the letters from the gb.
the way the organization has changed is a sign that it reached its peak (in "healthy" membership) long ago.

door to door work brings few if any into the org.... as for the newly instigated sit by your trolley work.....well...here in our town two sisters..(who are also real sisters) sit by their trolley each tuesday morning. no one comes to them and they don't approach any passersby.....complete waste of time and resources..and from what i can gather it's usually sisters who do this work...can't imagine brothers or elders doing it...seems that subservient sisters use it to demonstrate their wholehearted subjection .....

Didn't ray Franz write most of commentary of James?...great book...but if studied today it would only expose elders etc as not fit for purpose.

The organisation is irrelevant to many on it ranks...It paints everyone in the world as Satan's agents....It condemns higher education thus trapping many to a life of window cleaning or other menial jobs...basically what has it to offer anyone these days except excuses for failed prophecies..
