years ago my ex inlaws were heavily into amway....and they were/are witnessess..I said then to them that both orgs were similar in structure...they did not appreciate my analysis!!..it's all pyramid strutured ..(rather fittting in view of early events in jw origins...)

by steve2 inhere's a hypothesis that we can expect to see robustly tested over the next 2 (2016) to 5 years (2019):.
as jw.org traffic goes up, door-to-door work will go down.
it will be harder to maintain a focus on the motivation and effort required to go "out" into your local territory because the "shift" has started to occur.

Ferguson Shooting (Is my thinking on this all wrong.......)
by out4good3 ini think everyone here can agree that walking down the street, even in the middle of the street, is not cause for having a clip emptied in your ass......... i can understand how the black community would be outraged by the injustice of seeing another black man dead in the street at the hands of the police under mysterious circumstances....... i hope that i'm not succumbing to the attempts to assinate the already well impuned character of the dead man...... however.
i can't help but think that this could all have been avoided by exercising the proper discretion with fore-knowledge of the disadvantages people of color have when they are dealing with law enforcement in the united states.
it is not as if this disadvantage has only since recently came to light.

..how many whites/blacks murdered each day in USA?...I don't know...all I do know is that the police and individual officers are under stress and have to deal with dreadful things that we may not be able to comprehend each working day..mistakes are made...tempers flare...as the old Hill St Blues episodes used to start with..'let's be careful out there.'...I just wish that those who stir racist issues/conflict in their rhetoric remember that they can light a fuse which can flare up ....without police etc we'd be living in fear as those in Iraq have been...policing isn't easy..there are good and not so good officers...it's easy to criticise them but I'd hate to live in a society without them.

JW's just called at my door, simply handed me the JW.ORG tract and left! JW's now mere leaflet distributors.
by yadda yadda 2 ini'm off work today and its a monday morning.
a male and female jw just knocked on my door, i opened it, the guy just handed me their latest website promoting tract saying "hi, were just leaving these with people today", and then he made to leave.
i looked at the tract and then looked at him as he was turning to walk away and said to him "ok, thanks, but ummm you could've just left it in my letterbox.".

Silence after stating my confusion about "144,000"
by tidalblitz inthe other night, i was told about a question that a friend's bible study had asked them.
the bible study asked: "if jesus is perfect, why does he need the 144,000 to help him rule?
" this friend does not know how to answer this question.

Impossible to reason with some jws.
I have a feeling that even if god himself was to physically denounce the jws they'd just reply that God was an apostate and not yet come round to their doctrines...yet.

Speculation Fall AGM
by Poztate ina lot of comments have been made about possible big changes at the agm in the fall.. comments range from changes to the blood doctrine or who compose the one hundred and forty four thousand.. my speculation is.... (and if someone else had this kind of thread i am not stealing from you..just never read it).
the door to door as we know it will cease to exist.
the publishing of a monthly public wt and awake will end.. instead each month a tract with different subjects and a redirect to jw.org will come out.

I doubt if there' be any successful lawsuits if they dropped the blood issue..because their get out clause is always..' our understanding at the time was... etc etc etc'..and they's just say that they understood blood to be a viable doctrine at the time..prior to 'nu-light'..
