critical times hard to deal with v whenever they are saying peace then instant destruction is upon them. Take your pick. Bad news events means end is near, good news means end is near. Delusional..

JW.Org claims they have fullfilled Jesus command to preach in all the inhabited earth.Have they really done that ? I dont think so.
by smiddy inapart from the fact that they have mainly followed in the footsteps of christendom before them what virgin territories have they ever gone to that christendom before them has not gone to .
i would think none.. how many lands ,countrys ,are their that they have never made any significant inroads into ?.
we are not talking about token service in any of these countrys in major cities , but a real door to door witness to every individual householder that gets it every few months as in western lands.. some that i can think of : north korea ,mainland china , bangladesh ,india , pakistan , jordan , israel , iran , syria ,burma ( sorry cant think of the new name ).

Number of Muslims protesting London terrorist attack = ZERO. Number of Muslims protesting forced Mosque closure in France = HUNDREDS
by kpop inso it is now two days after another islamic terrorist attack.
how many muslims are in the streets protesting and condemning this evil?
how many are marching in all the big cities condemning this in mass protests?.

I, too, waited for the genuine Muslim community to come out and condemn publicly the attrocity. But nothing. Why? Does their 'religion' condone it? If not, then they should be openly saying so. Their silence is deafening.........and baffling.

Looking forward to going to Memorial this year!
by kpop ini have some tricks to play.
i know it may sound childish but i feel that creating havoc and forcing the memorial to be postponed will be the highlight of the night!
wish me luck!.

Not good idea. Show respect for others beliefs etc. To do otherwise is to invoke repercussion. Live and let live. Rise above any impulse to be nasty. There's enough stupidity in the world already, why add to it?. Be good!!

Thorn in the Elders' Side
by IronSharpensIron ini've been out of the jw for some time.
but i was just recalling this guy that had formerly been an elder, but had not agreed with the rest of the elders on some issues and had stepped down.
he continued to go to the meetings, make comments at the hall and be critical of the elders.

Yes, several. In my 30+ years in, I've known several very fairminded and human elders. They stood out as able to listen to both sides of any discussion without being partial. They had hearts. They didn't always automatically agree with everything that came from the GB and often expressed constructive criticism of other 'superior' self appointed elders. Sadly most have died. They were very much missed.

Another Burnt Out Elder
by Spoletta inyoung elder(mid-thirties) in my congregation stepped down last night.
nicest guy, with two lovely kids, a great supportive wife.. it got to be too much, as the other elders are practically useless, let him do all the hard work, while they did all the "important" stuff.
literally ran him ragged.. he's still in good standing, gave the final prayer.

Genuinely good caring discreet and tactful elders are/were hard to find. In my day we had several generous hearted ones who had no oversized ego or bigheadedness. When I left three years ago several of the elders were engaged in interfering with families internal structure and destabilised more than one family. The CO, a rather dysfunctional man at the best of times, enjoyed being centre stage and seemed more concerned with being the centre of the congregation than caring for those at the edges. He has since been 'relocated' as a result of being found guilty of damaging families. Even though I'm out, I will never forget the kindness shown to me by those elders years ago.

Sounds like it's all been dumbed down. So much for nourishing spiritual food at the proper time. In years past it used to be quite a heavy substantial meeting with various talks and at least a spark of initiative. Really does sound like the meeting is banal nowadays...

One word in opening post website suggests caution....Allegedly. Other factors may have played a part in the death.... 'Make sure of all things' etc etc

Was Ray Franz Playing The Long Game?
by rory-ks ini'm just making my way through crisis of conscience for the second time and once again i am struck by the presentation of such detailed records.
letters are shown in full - copies of letters from the branch, and to the branch.
reports are quoted vebatim.

Ray Franz seems to have been a genuine man who painstakingly took the effort to verify truth and factual accounts of what happened....Love reading his books....

So, the Womens March ... What Is It For?
by Simon init seems like mobilizing after the election, which seems pointless.
i keep hearing demands for equal rights but don't understand what rights they are missing exactly.. normally a march is to show the support (and potential votes) for a cause, but ... votes for what?
... and the election happened already.. is anyone else confused?

Why are women and others marching to gain rights? Surely, if Obama had done a good job all such rights would exist anyway. If not, then he is to blame for what he didn't do, not Trump for what he hasn't yet done. Time will tell.

A question for those who still go to the meetings
by no-zombie inand it is ... why do most at the hall prefer to sit at the back and leave front rows empty?.
