New light on shunning?
by Mikejw inone theory why tony was booted out was because he was a stickler for not changing the shunning doctrine.
he actually said the words we will never ever change it.. they are slowly deleting all of tony’s videos and now losing court cases and losing government hand outs in places like norway.. it’s looking very likely they will release new light on shunning policy after losing this latest one in norway.. .
what are the odds they coincidentally get new light from jehovah and lighten up their shunning policy ?.

In Scouts years ago we were told to Be Prepared. For anything at anytime. Perfectly natural to be curious about events and timings etc.
I do not think that the WT have deceived anyone. If so, why would they? What would be their motive?
The Bible is less about dates and more about events etc.
Jesus never mentioned any specific date for anything. He did however refer to seasons etc and events. He said Keep on the watch...ie stay awake.

The First Holocaust
by nicolaou inplease, please ignore all the scientific impossibilities here, that's not what this topic is about.. let's make the assumption as many christians do that the bible is historically accurate.
the noachian flood actually happened a little less than 4,500 years ago after which eight adults stepped off the ark to repopulate the planet.. that means that approximately 60 million lives had been snuffed out, a holocaust by anyone's estimation.
as if that isn't horrific enough just think about the babies, toddlers and young children god killed.. he drowned all of them, every single one.

60 million? Really? Supposition. Unhelpful in any serious consideration of the subject.

Did God know adam and eve would sin?
by gavindlt into all those on this forum, i would love to know what your take on this vital question is..

No. They had choice. Free will. They had the capability of sinning, as we all do. But also guidance. They chose to listen to strangers rather than their creator.

Proverbs 22:3...explains why they have closed it down. Very sensible.

Treatment of Those Trying For Reinstatement
by Vanderhoven7 inwhat happens when a jehovah’s witness who has been disfellowshipped returns to attending the meetings again?.
mark jones writes:.
if it's the same congregation that they previously attended then, yes, the congregation will remember who they are and so continue to treat them as dead or invisible.. one of the identifying marks a cult is that it uses shame and humiliation to control members, to keep them from leaving and manipulating those who escaped into coming back.. a disfellowshipped person is never allowed to quietly leave with dignity.

It is sad that reinstatement isn't easier or at least less hostile. Many do want to return even if only to conclude a thinking process or perhaps re appraise things. Belief is personal and world events throw many into a quagmire of uncertainty and fear. None of us have any right to dictate another's belief or religious convictions. There are many good people within their ranks, and family ties have suffered. So much misery etc which could be avoided...

Yes, I enjoyed all the meetings and the people there too. The local group Tuesday book study was good for building friendships and helped keep an eye on the elderly more needy ones. Then things changed.....

Utterly dreadful for all those involved, and for the children who witnessed something no parent would ever want them to see. Kind thoughts to all those who were there and their families.

Whatever the truth about this announcement, I find it sad and disappointing that so many nasty, vitriolic and presumptive comments have been made on this site. Any number of perfectly good reasons may lie behind his departure. The bottom line is that it is really none of our business. Let's stick with facts and truth. I am tired of the jumping on bandwagon attitude so prevalent in the world today and in social media. We should be above all that, shouldn't we? -

Here's a question that I guarantee no one has ever thought of!
by nowwhat? inunlike men who took no note, surely the fallen angels knew of gods plan to flood the earth, so why didn't they build an ark(s) for their nephilum sons?

How do we know they didn't try and build a similar ark vessel? If they did try, Jehovah would have frustrated their efforts anyway...to ensure their destruction..
