  ok boys and girls did santa come to your house or what?.

  me, i opened an assortment of colorful packages this afternoon, chocolates, chocolates and more chocolates .. two books, one on ancient egypt and the other a guide to bush tucker plants, two videos, one the moulin rouge, the other the hitchikers guide to the galaxy, a galileo pendulum lol, one of those profile pin art things and various perfumes and bathing equipments.. give?

  who me .. lots of presents for the girls but they were most happy with the mobile phones.. cheers, glutonous unc, off for a swim

  Request To Write Governing Body

  the purpose of this letter is to establish clearly that our requests are simple and the purpose is to protect jw children.

  Hi Path,
  I just lost a very long post to cyberspace here. Will try to re-create my post :>
  My stance here is not to bring the WTS to it's knees. My priority has always been what's positive and beneficial for the victims/survivors of the heinous 'in-house' polices here.
  I do understand that whatever they do regarding molesters is simply going to be a public relations/image ploy.I'm nt naive on how this corp works.
  It will always be so due to one major factor here. There will never be any real encouragement and help until the men in these positions are educated and trained in the various disciplines to assess and identify this. Let alone know how to network for victims.

  I would like to see them cough up enough money to provide the necessary reparations victims/survivors need to undo some of the damge done(if it even can).Sheingold calls molesting by sexual predators,"soul murder'. The best description of this.

  I am well aware of the power plays and games they play.I'll clarify my stance ,taking the long view,is that any and all documented effotrs at creating awareness of this will be in the victims benefit.
  Whether it's acknowledged ignored trashed,etc. by the org. It will be there for others to see.

  I think efforts like these tend to empower victims and survivors. That they don't see the apathy that they have experienced in the org. here. That people do what they can for them,in any small way.(lending name to an issue)

  We do what the WTS never has and most likely will never do is advocate for them. And it's also an issue of prevention. And as long as they keep this heirarchal structure of untrained men,it's never gonna happen.

  Have you ever been thru the legal sysytem w/ a woman,say for domestic violence?. Ask a woman who has had an advocate for that with her,how she felt. The sense of an emotional buffer between them and abuser. The sense of safety. The sense of personal empowerment they had.Even if all the advocate did was stand between them and the defendant.
  Summing up here,my priority has and is for the victim/survivors.
  Hope I clarified my previous post somewhat. I am not angry,as Amnesian mentioned in another thread. Far too often some people tend to mistake passion and committment with anger. Not so here.

  I don't see how advocating on the side of victims qualifies as anger and frustration. It's a pervasive organizational issue and a societal one. Thats' what grassroots groups do. Lend themselves to an issue ,a cause,being a victim is not a qualifier. All one needs is a healthy social conscience. Your reasoning sounds to me like 'you can't be a good cardiologist unless you've had a heart attack'.
  I think it's wise to have all kinds of documentation re: said issue. That an effort was made to bring this to org attention, whether it is ignored or not.
  Im not Da or DF'd YK.Unclean dogs? Look in the mirror. Your attitude and hatred are the reasons I rarely respond to you. I appreciate that you're here tho. You keep more people from returning or even getting involved in the cult you support. Please keep posting.Everyone needs to see your version of christian love and morality! :>

  You have expressed far better than I ever could the sense of powerless I know I felt as a JW woman.
  It always stuck in my craw,to see brilliant wonderful competent women treated so condescendingly.

  And the elder attitude,yep have to agree with that as well.
  How that JW speak conjures up the sense of second class status/sexism I lived under....'caution you' lol. Ahhh the memories! Some fool themselves that because they've left they no longer carry this attitude. April Fools,lots of ya do!! I remember bringing up womens issues here some time ago,only to be told by a former elder to take it somewhere else!! Laugh was on him when Randy took the thread and used it on Freeminds.Gotta love the irony there lol.

  Yep the 'anger card' ! lol. Far too often thrown around when a woman is passionate or enthusiastic on an issue. Classic!

  And from my experience I found many many elders over compensating for their lack of sense of power in the real world in the kh's. Where were all these highly educated secularly successful men? They sure weren't in my circuit lol. But they did this so 'lovingly,humbley'.....eyeroll (yass massa) Women were/are nothing but field hands in the org.

  Anyone who thinks this scathing honest indictment of gender politics and imbalance in the corp. is extreme or painting w/ a broad brush are obviously not the ones sitting on the low scale part of it. Power and control are the basis of this corp.There is just no way in hell that those on the lowest side of the powerless scale can be equally culpable .

  It was so extremely difficult for me to live with the frustration due to these 'moral guardians' who lorded it over us. And they sure strutted their stuff!(and there rarely was any 'stuff' let alone real substance to them). Cock of the walk types spouting their censorious words at me for attempting to be my own person. A fully actualized woman I believe,will always end up leaving such emotional psychological and social bondage . - Where men and their positions enabled them to give free rein to their rampant over-blown egos.

  I have to say,it's been a real learning experience for me over the years here. Reading former feld-graus rationalizations,justifications and disowning/minimizing their culpability.The org worked them and they worked the org. For some reason it always brings Hannah Arendts banality of evil to my mind. As I continue to see some former elders engage in these excusogetics,only clarifies for me that some are serving ungratified ego needs that were once taken care of by former corp structure. Leaving the patriarchal corp. construct doesnt magically endow some with a raised gender consciousness.

  Thank you again! I'm saving your post! This is the BEST one I have seen in a long long time.There is nothing I can posibly add to yours.

  many times on jwd we squabble and argue,.

  even to the point of angry fights.. really, we all have our points-of-view.. really, we all think we are right.. you jws especially.. christmas time is a nice time of year, though.. however we individually believe, we wish each other peace.. rex included.

  i wish everyone at jwd a very merry christmas.. share it with someone you love.. try to be peaceable with your fellow humans.. make time for others.. and have a wonderful 2002. soon enough, you know will be back in october to tell us our doom!
