What memories your post brought back to me!!
I think it's preety revealing about the JW abusive parenting style........I well remember the wooden spoons, hairbrushes etc that was oh so acceptable at the halls......can you imagine what must have went on in the homes(as some that was pretty minor discipline?)
Home was even worse, there was no one to see....so out came extension cords, steel rulers, punching, locked in dark basements, food cupboards locked---milk cartons marked to see if anyone took some without permission,,,,ack,I could go on..........I know my case was extreme, but I can't help but wonder about those other witness kids, and what went on behind closed doors,,,because of their thinking that violence against children was scriptural, thus Ok,,,,just thinkin now,Luv,Tina

Poor JW children again (touching a sore tooth)
by Mommie Dark ini've been reading the thread about children and brooding over the whole issue of kids-n-cults for a couple of days now.
yesterday i had to outwait a group of immovable amish youth blocking the doorway out of the local grocery store(to many local amish, 'english' are generally invisible unless they want to sell us something.
), and they got mixed into the brain stew with the jw kids and the recent moral self-righteousness of certain jw posters here.

Your 3rd post reinforces the previous 2,as another example of callousness, and continued judgementalism....You equate ongoing pain and loss with self-pity...sorry,I don't see any heart showing....and Jesus didn't speak to the suffering callously and coldly......you seem like one of those folks who has left the wts,but the smug condemnatory attitude you display shows you still carry their thinking.
No you're definitely not jesus, but for one professing him as your exemplar, aren't you supposed to imitate his qualities of compassion, kindness, and concern for your fellow humans?
I haven't seen you in any of the threads encouraging or assisting with kind, compassionate words of support to those hurting in some fashion. I can imagine what type of elder you were....just from what you display here. Typical of those who leave and embrace another type of fundamentalism----same attitude, different name.
Maybe your motto should read Still no heart but new religion
You say you have new friends who don't judge? So,you want to be treated non-judgementally, while it's ok for you to judge others.
it's shameful that you're so dismissive of others experiences who don't share your worldview.......... -

Hi Had Enough,
Well said!!
Interesting how a person who has "Less religion and more Jesus,at the bottom of his posts, makes such an unchristlike callous judgement of others.......anyway,I've enjoyed reading your posts HE,Cheers,Tina -

What did you do?
by StiLLinTruth into all those who have in some way left the organization (be it disfellowshipping, disassociating, dis-whatever):.
come now, i know the amount of people who "realized that wt doctrine was in serious error" and politely handed in their letter of resignation has to be very small.
the level of bitterness and hostility towards the closest-to-what's-biblical organization has to develop some other way.. what did you do?

Still,
I left because I didn't want to be a person like you anymore,Tina -

The JW's Have Targeted My Co-Worker!
by SanFranciscoJim ini have long believed in separating my personal life from life in the workplace, and rarely discuss matters of a private nature with co-workers.. i work with a woman who has a young daughter (early 20's) who has terminal cancer and probably only weeks left to live.
i've known this woman for a number of years and know her to be sensitive, and compassionate, having a deep faith in god.. i just found out last week that another one of my co-workers is a jw.
i have no intention of "outing" myself to her and she has no idea that she works side-by-side with someone who was disfellowshipped 21 years ago.. my concern is this: today, the jw co-worker approached me and asked me if i know where my other co-worker lives "because i'd like to talk with her about something very important".

Hi Jim,
Altho being raised in the corporation...... it didn't get it's claws into me until I became emotionally vulnerable...dealing withthe death of a loved one. I lost many more years to them due to that.
I consider that emotional and psychological terrorism at it's best and I would warn the individual,,,,,, when one thinks of the lost productive years and the heinous crash when realizing 'you've been spiritually had' is well worth the warning. Just MHO,regards,Tina -

How hard is it to kill a Fortune 500 company?
by newguy init seems to be the dream of many here to put the wt corperation out of business.
well, i hate to throw a bucket of cold water called reality on your dreams, but it is not likely to happen anytime soon.. the wt society has annual reveune of about $2.5 billion.
that figure was from recent disclosures they had to file as a not-for-profit company.

Hi Ginny,
Simon is quite the gentleman and has provided a home for us here. I think it's out of love and kindeness for fellow humans,,,,newguy is lurker,,,,the spelling etc gives him away...and due to his continuing atrocious behavior to others, he lost his privilege. I applaud that decision. A time out can be beneficial . Hardly a coincidence I think, that 'lurker gets bumped'newguy appears and begins to attack and cast aspersions on SImon........just my thoughts,Tina -

Are we bitter people or just victims?
by cocolocoii ini am a jehovah's witness until today, but i don't know if i'll continue to be one of them tomorrow.. i said that because for once my eyes are open to reallity and i can clearly see that there is not organization beyond our creators name.. i see a lot or imperfect man trying to do what is right, but allways those desires are corrupted by their pride or greediness.. i think that in the watch tower organization are really a lot of people who really wants to served god.
but i think too that there are a lot a people who doesn't have love and mercy for their brothers.
a well known saying says that you will catch more fly with honey than with vinager.. this doesn't mean that people are allowed to do whatever they want without any respect for god's word in the bible.

Hi All,
I agree with Simon and Es,
Of course one is going to experience the gamut of emotions int he beginning, would only be natural.
But it's not healthy thinking to remain in a 'victim mode'. That implies helplessness and no control over ones' life, when in fact we do have the abilty to deal with it and heal...
Stephen,
Wher did you get this info that cell tissues record every move and emotion?
Please tell me where empirical medical studies prove this....
this is psuedo-science with no basis in fact. tina -

scams scams and more scams
by zev inding..... a bell went off.
i wonder why it took me so long.. veniceit posted a link in her story on her sight to this article, which i scanned into text and repost here.
the point being, that this is one scam to make money by the borg.

ack I hit the button and wasn't done yet.
Stephen, one last thought about their presentation of info,,,,,,,
Blood is a personal decision, based on all the data, not just what the wts presents, that's my point. The r/f are not getting the objective data, etc. It's like UFO's there's lots of info out there, but does that mean it's true and factual, just because it's published? One has to get educated and informed on the issue, not accept that policy(or any for that matter) just because 'they say so"
