Mad as hell...shivered and cried like baby
by DannyBear inyesterday, when farkel announced his departure and shunning of us all, i was incensed and outraged.
in fact i had similar feeling's to those day's 20yrs ago, after being df'd, where former friends and relatives, just simply said 'your no good, your not worthy of my/our attention anymore' turned thier back's and walked away from me.
then witnessed farkel ignore the sweet comments lilac's writes just for him....made we want to ring his neck.

Signing up to be a JW again
by moman inwhy would someone, upon tasting freedom, want to return to bondage?.
lets call it the "shawshank redemption syndrome" to those that havn't seen the movie, its one of those 'triumph of the human spirit over extream adversity' movies.. the movie depicts the lives of prisoners & how difficult it iz to adjust to freedom after years of incarceration, you know, the guy that breaks the store window so he can go back to prison & whats familiar.. i can understand, in light of the above, how some who leave the borg,& then have a yearning for the old ways.
the watchtower offers answers for everything, you need not think, just play by the rules & everything will be ok, because we have the real god on our side!

in MNSHO,there are far too many folks here that really need to be in a professional milieu,a therapy group. And that takes a committment to wellness, hard work, courage, honest self-assessment,learning social and communication skills among other things. One on one exit counseling may be needed. Counseling for the deeper personal issues that pervade every aspect of being that the WTS has affected.
One has to take serious personal responsibility for ones wellness. And that means action. And if all some are doing is hanging on boards like this: Well that's not taking personal responsibility for real growth ,change, and acceptance of what the real world is all about and finding our place in it,nor is that real action or comittment to wellness.
Some still need the crutches of an idealized world. A world that doesnt exist except in high control groups or the fantasies served up by charlatans like the WTS and other groups that offer you quick and easy serenity on a platter. One size fits all.(eyeroll)
These boards cannot provide the specific needed structure nor facilitate on an intimate group level, the dynamics needed for true growth and change for some. TinaVive Bene

Blood Show on Discovery Channel
by ChuckD indid anyone happen to catch the show on the cable tv discovery health channel this past weekend about blood?
i tuned in mid-way through it, just in time to see them covering bloodless surgery planned for a jw woman.
the patient was a very heavy, diabetic woman who needed heart surgery.. what i found interesting was that the patient refered to herself as a "jehovah witness" (sic) while the narrator of the program used the correct pronounciation.

Fear and pain and death...
by Cowboy indo you fear death?if so,do you fear it because of the pain that is likely to go along with it?or because of what will become of your soul(your self)after death?.
curiosly,i find that i no longer fear death.not that i want to die-i don't.but i wonder if this how i should feel.. i don't like pain, but i have a fairly high threshold of pain,i think.i'm sure there is much greater pain than what i have experienced, but though i avoid it when at all possible(including spankings...sorry chat babes),i'm not afraid that i can't deal with it if i have to.. likewise death,i just have no great fear of it anymore.i don't think that it's due to my beliefs about what will happen after i die...i don't have any.sure,i was raised a j.w.,instilled from birth with the idea that if i didn't survive armageddon, that i'd be resurrected thereafter.but i don't buy that anymore...neccesarily.nor do i believe in the heaven or hell concept...neccesarily.i do believe that if i'm the best kind of person i can be,then it will have to be good enough for whatever,if anything, lies beyond the life i'm living now.. in talking to others, though,i find very few(if any)people who don't have a pretty high degree of fear about death.it has me wondering, and i'd appreciate your comments.. cowboy.

I resent your blanket smug statement Frenchy,'easy sitting at the keyboard' . In Anas case and mine we have worked with death and dying on a daily basis. It's a lot more here than an intellectual exercise which I guess it is for you to be able to make a blanket assumption.
Please get your head out of your ass before you do this. Recognize there are varied experiences here that fall out of your limited worldview of people.Vive Bene

((((((cb)))))))))
Good question!
I don't fear death. I've come to learn it's part of the life cycle, inevitable.
Like others I'm a bit apprehensive about the manner of it. Certainly don't want atrocious pain and something like Alzheimers is scary to me. I guess I would want control of that in those situations. To have the ability to end it at my discretion.
I've seen far too many painful deaths to see any nobility is such great and useless suffering.
I feel if you grab every day and use it as fully as you can,and you know that you grabbed life by the horns and squeezed as much of it out as you could, what's to fear? You've really lived and left death the dregs. luv,TVive Bene

"Meet my J.C. representation"
by Simon inone of the things i'd like to see / do .... when they are about to give some poor young brother or sister a 'spiritual going over' in one of their damn judicial committes and have lined up three or more elders to intimidate the errant one:.
the 'victim' announces they have some people to help represent them as a dozen rough-looking apostates march in and stand behind the suddenly-less-confident-looking 'representatives of the most high god jehovah' looking over their shoulders to show them what it really feels like to have the the fear of god put into you.. wouldn't that be nice?

Yep basic civil and human rights violations. You're not allowed to face your accuser,or have any advocate or representation. Strictly star chamber tactics and they call that justice???? T

Hi Ana,
I appreciate what you wrote but disagree wholeheartedly with your assessment. He was not a vehicle for me. He respresented no one but himself in my eyes. I take each individual here as just that. Simple, nothing more to read into to that. Thanks anyway luv.TVive Bene

I Need To Vent...
by LisaK inthey found me.
i went to the grocery store yesterday, and an old congregation member was hiding in the parking lot passing out wt's.

Hi Lisa,
Restraining order! You were being hounded and harrassed. A citizen does NOT have to put up with that. And some JW's need to get the clue that their cult behavior is not above the law. Best of luck,TinaVive Bene
