Forever Bashing JW's??
by ScoobySnax inok.....here's one for you.....maybe this follows on from previous posts about not forever being "ex-jws" as after all, you say you have to move on, and many here claim that they have.....however reading most posts here it becomes obvious that that doesn't seem to be the case.
many seem to be trapped in a "go get 'em" crusade against the jws that seems to go round and round ...... and others just go round.. why?
how long before resolution occurs?

In shock.
by lulu inlast night(tuesday) an announcement was made in our congregation that my husband and i had disassociated ourselves.
we did no such thing(for personal reasons) nor was any document whatsoever given to the local elders or anyone else.
nevertheless, that is what happened, apparently no letter of resignation is required.

I'm sorry to hear that lulu. Same thing happened to CC and I. In fact, my brother ask CC why we sent a letter???? CC said we NEVER sent a letter!!!! The elders simply gaves us a dead line, either be at the hall for a elders meeting on such and such date and we will assume you have disassociated yourselves. It was like they were on a witch hunt or something!
How can they get away with doing such things to people! I tell ya, one of these days, their gonna really PISS somebody off and it's gonna be like the show The Saprano's, somebody's gonna go swimming with the fishes!!! *if ya know what I mean*

Mulan, I didn't mean for my post to sound like I was attacking you. I just wanted you to realize what your posted sounded like to me. So many times I have been shamed because of what my dad did. People telling me to *get over it*. People telling me not to bring it up because it will make people uncomfortable. People saying he's going to hell because of what he did. I realize this is a touchie subject and maybe I'm alittle sensitive when it comes to this subject.
I'm sorry for blasting you. Forgive me?
Joel, I'm glad you're feeling better. I'm glad that you came here and reached out to us. The borg. has done a number on all of us. I know it played a part in my dad's suicide. We can't let those bastards win!
I've had many moments of what I call a *dark time*, but the one thing that I have learned, is that it always passes. Things always change and even though this may be a tough period, there will be better days. Find a specialist to talk to about what you're dealing with. Get out of the house, even if it's to take a short walk. It does help. Be kind to yourself and never forget you have friends that love you very much here, k?

Mulan, why is this not the place to talk about this? Lord knows we talk about everything else here. It wasn't easy talking about my fathers suicide, but I felt it was important for Joel to hear all the aspects of it. The hard truth of what suicide entails and how ugly it is, letting him know that there are other options, that there is help out there. It's the attitude of yourself that shame survivors of suicide. If we can't discuss it here, then where and when can we discuss it? When is it ever a good time to discuss it? Would it be appropreiate to talk about my mothers cancer here? Would that be okay? Is it okay to talk about sexual abuse here? Is that okay? When is going to be okay for people to talk about depression and mental illness? When is it going to be okay for someone to discuss their pain of losing someone to suicide? Like I said in my other post. It's a grief that you grieve alone....and it's because people like you make such statements that make us feel ashamed. Believe me, we have enough pain and shame with what we've endured. We don't need extra dumped on us. Just something for you to think about.
