Thanks Sassy, I'm okay though. I had to tell her though, our friendship was growing and I had to be honest with her. Also, to be honest with ya, after hearing she was a witness, I actually wanted to shun her! I don't want to be around a witness, ever! They can shun me all they want, I just shun them right back!

I was careful what I said to her. I was honest, but not ugly. Her husband *not a j.w.* is a principal at the local highschool and has helped me get a job subbing, so I didn't want to make waves. I'm learning to pick my battles and she's not one of them. After she left, after talking to her, or I should say, listening to her j.w bullcrap, I was sick to my stomach. I can't stand to listen to them talk, I literally cringe. I still can't believe she was a witness!!! lol I'm glad I can have a sense of humor about the whole thing.
I do appreciate all the input.

As most of you know, CC and I moved here, two hours away from my home town so we wouldn't have to run into J.W.'s and J.W. family. I've been walking in the neighborhood, been trying to lose weight. While walking, I became friends with a girl in the neighborhood. We really hit it off! Her two young daughters just seem to love me too. I was really excited to make a new friend since I'm kinda new to the area and don't have that many friends here. Last week she was here visiting, everything was going along nicely, then I asked her youngest daughter if she had a new Easter dress picked out! She turned her eyes over at her mother with this look as if to say *that is bad*. I got a sick feeling and thought to myself, *no way that they are witnessess!* What are the chances, right???? Well a few minutes later, I asked her where she went to church, and guess what???? You're right, she's a freaking j.w.!!!!! I swear, I thought I would fall out of my chair! Been one for 12 years!!! Long story short, I told her that CC and I had disassociated ourselves. She did her j.w. preaching, the end is coming, bla bla bla, pretty much told me that she couldn't associate with me and left. Later that week, I saw her two girls while I was doing my walk and they took off and ran the other way. You would have thought they saw a child molester! So dissapointing and frustrating. Can you believe this!!!
You never know where they'll pop up! And just when you think it's safe to go outside!!!

The Passion Christian Hype is Making Me Sick--Thoughts
by blacksheep ini've seen the passion.
thought i'd be moved.
it supposedly has changed people's lives, caused them to confess sins (actually turned themselves in as criminals), etc.. please, can you explain to me why shindler's list didn't inspire such actions?

I haven't seen it. Don't know if I want to. My brother saw it a few weeks ago, said that it didn't *move* him. Said that if you want to go see a guy get a two hour beating, then go see the movie.

My life is going to have a BIG change soon
by Mulan inmost of you on this board know my husband and i have been caring for my aged parents for many years.
mom is 91 and is in assisted living now, since november, when we could no longer fill her care needs.
(my parents have been divorced since 1969 so we weren't separating a married couple, in case you wondered) .

Mulan, you can take great pride that you cared for your parents like you have! You're a great daughter and I'm sure you'll have some adjusting to do after your dad moves out. Your dad sounds like a wonderful and thoughtful man!
You know, come to think of it, running around the house naked, didn't sound like a bad idea!!!
Hope the move runs smoothly and keep us posted.

I'm ready to say goodbye!
by Sunnygal41 inwell, tonite, i finally said what i had to say to my live-in.
i've shared just a tiny bit of the insanity i've been thru and put up with with this man...............for three years.. there is a saying when you've had enough, you'll stop.
today, after pacing like a restless tiger in the house and not wanting to do any of the things i suggested, he called a cab and is on his way to buy crack and hang out with an old friend from his past.

Terri, stick to your guns! You've got to be your best friend. Would you want your best friend be in that situation? My father was a alcoholic, drug addict, same thing, and my ex was also. We mere humans tend to lean toward what is most familiar to us! I grew up with a distant, abusive, self destuctive father, that's what I felt comfortable with. Sad but true. Only until I realized that I was worthy of love and happiness, I ended up with true love and happiness. Like Lady Lee said, be good to yourself and expect nothing less than that from others. You can do it!
