What Was Your Biggest Gripe About The Elders???
by minimus inafter reading some of the pain that you've gone through, in many cases, the elders weren't there at all for you.
i'm wondering what your biggest complaint about the elders is.

i'm becoming partial to british accents for reasons i don't care to state.
i don't think i have one but, perhaps i'm wrong.

I dislike overly slow Southern (USA) accents. I like them until I fall asleep talking to them on the phone. (Not meant as a slam to anyone here btw)
Aztec, I have a slow Southern bell accent. I have other dear friends here with slow southern accents.
Just thought I'd let you know, so you wont fall asleep!

My turn to ask some questions
by Lady Lee inok i rarely ask questions but hey i might as well do this too.
but to make life a lot easier for you i will put tham all in one thread when you first came here what did you expect?what were you looking for?did you find it and if so how?if you were looking for information how did you look for it - ask a question?
wander through the threads?

Gosh Lady Lee, that's a lot of questions! I think my first curiousity was to see if someone was feeling the same way I was feeling about leaving the org. I have found a great support system here. It's hard for others to understand exactly what it's like to leave a cult unless you've gone through it yourself.
I thank Simon for the site. It has helped me immensely.
And I thank you Lady Lee for being such a sweetie!

Did you recieve help?
by shamus indid you ask or recieve help from the elders?.
if so, were they helpful?
i did once... they're help was more troubling than not.

Shamus, if I get into the whole thing with the treatment of the elders, I will just get mad. But, I will tell you this, no, I didn't go to them for help, *that's what made them mad* and no they did not help me.

Yesterday we bought our Very First Christmas Tree!
by cruzanheart inwell, actually, i did, but with the blessings of the family.
it's fake (too many allergies in the house to risk a real one), pre-lit, and 7 feet tall.
i think it's going to be gorgeous.

Cruz, that's way cool! I hope you have a great time with Christmas this year! It can be fun, can't it!!!!!!!
Valis, that's neat with what you're doing with your kids. My sister done that with her kids. They're grown now and she has all these wonderful ornaments from when they were little. She puts them on her tree every year! You're a good daddy!

he tried to toe the line and after 6 months the local congregation recommended reinstatement.
bethel didn't like that idea.

by dmouse inthe latest watchtower, dec 15th 2003, is an out and out attack on the rank and file for dropping into a drowsy state spiritually.
ok, so armageddon didn't come before the generation of 1914 grew old and died.

Just reading that article was scary. Makes me shiver!
I remember counting down the years to 1975 on my fingers when I was little. *sigh* Got baptised at 13 in 1973 with my mother, so we would be ready in 1975!!! Dropping out of high school in 1974 to aux pioneer so I would be ready for 1975! After the big A didn't come in 1975 I went back to high school. I know people thought I was crazy!
Scary to know that people still are buying into that crap.
