But instead you now have people on the deck of the Titanic preaching about the iceberg. And what about the band that played on the deck? Oh we have the pop-star Prince today, silly me.Well at least in 80 years time there will be a movie about the incident with stunning special effects, with a mediocre love story and a so so theme tune. Meh, I can wait for the movie... In the meantime I'm watching Space-ex vidoes on YouTube.

Spiritual paradise - You get to read magazines written at primary school reading levels with some ok photos and the odd nice picture of a kid with a panda in a garden. Oh there are also some animations, some are about ice cream money.

Sacred secret - You get to go door to door and sit at the literature cart while thinking about shopping.

Gifts in men - You get to listen to endless special needs talks given by these gifts in men on how the organization requires your financial assistance. You may perhaps even get to have your first sexual experience with one of these gifts in men.

Well that about covers it I think.

How do you feel about the expression "The Truth"?

it's amazing how the expression "the truth" has become such an ingrained term used by witnesses.. "we have 'the truth'".

"is he 'in the truth'?".

most here have found out so many facts about the organisation, and felt the effects of being "gut-punched" as we realised these facts.. so how do you feel about the expression "the truth" now?.

Well firstly you should use the correct spelling and pronunciation:

Its The Twuth and not The Truth, you know like Shibboleth vs. Sibboleth. These things are important.

So how do I feel about it? I don't know what The Twuth really means, but if there is such a thing it would seem that the Watchtower corporation is aiming for a point where its furthest from.

i wouldn't go to war...i was a conscientious objector in viet nam.

i couldn't even get into a fight at school without getting into trouble.. yet my god...jehovah was is a jealous god an angry god....a god who when he got pissed off could destroy a whole planet...remember the flood....(the bible said he felt bad afterwards)...that was nice.. now he is getting ready to do it again....7 billion people worth....and why?.

You are absolutely correct. They use the term conscientious objector instead of pacifist (for legal reasons), however practically their action or inaction is indistinguishable from that of a pacifists. I find the difference philosophical instead of practical.

they say ignorance is bliss... well, i wish that god did not give adam free will.

i am ok to not have free will if it means i will live forever in perfect paradisiac conditions.it has been explained that free will is a gift from god.

From the 1958, 15 January Watchtower article entitled: Overseers in the Right Hand of Christ

"...God’s spirit speaking by him promises a grand reward, incorruptibility in the heavenly kingdom and a new relationship with Jehovah God,"

So according to Watchtower theology the 144 000 receive incorruptibility as a reward in heaven. Therefore they CANNOT sin any longer. So either they lose their free will or free will can exist without the risk of sin. So the whole exercise in Eden was pointless as God could have given man free will without the risk of his fall, or free will was not a big deal in the first place.

Once again the Watchtower's theology collapses under its own weight.

Im sick of my life

sorry but i really feel like i need to rant right now.

recently my dad was made an elder so my family has been doing a lot more "theocratic" activities lately.

every morning i wake up and put on my itchy dress and stupid makeup and heels and then pretend that i love what i'm doing and that everybody is my friend when in reality i feel horrible and all the other teenage girls at my hall hate me for some reason.

Hey there wolfy,

Don't worry too much. Being a JW teenager is a temporary affliction. I have been told by the highest authorities that this passes at some point. One day you will have good friends, cars, an apartment or house and even other things like keys. In the meantime you have reading, which means you have access to the wealth of human knowledge and experience. So use this privilege to your absolute advantage.

You should also remember that some teenagers that have access to all the things that you do not, like having many friends, that can do what they pretty much like and have parents who are not Jehovah's Witnesses, can still feel alienated, isolated and alone. So its not just a JW thing, although being in the religion doesn't help matters much.

Also perfect your art. I'm not talking about substance, because if you express what's in your heart at this point, your parents might make matters worse for you, but I'm talking about technique. Then when you're an adult and you can do whatever art you can imagine or want to imagine, then let it rip. Oh and don't be scared to throw your perfected technique in the trash can. Picasso was a very good classical artist as a young man:

This was all done so that he could discard it later (although it would still remain a valuable experience) and do what the hell he wanted to, so that he could eventually become the iconic magnificent modernist he was meant to be:
