Confused,
I wish I can meet you in person one day, your stories are sad but funny at the same time. I have a new hall that was just finished right before the memorial thanks to big J, it is in Riverview. Where is that other hall getting built?

A farce elder here
by His Excellency injust to share a little about me:.
i was recently appointed an elder, about 6 months ago now, and that is exactly two years after my awakenning, but funny that the appointment came also about 2 years after i had completely lost all faith in god and had been leading a full time anti-jw life .
makes you wonder the role of the holy spirit in the entire nomination or appointment process.. .

You are crossing the line and it does not matter if you believe or not, when you hurt others it is unethical and vile. But you can do as you wish and don't think people will accept this disgusting behavior.

Why get upset with the new WT donation system? It will still be a success...
by suavojr inwhen the wt went from charging for literature to voluntary donations, they took a hit but still survived.. i frankly see them having a high success once this new donation system is in place.
it will be a success and no dissenter or closet apostate will be able to stop it.
because although we hate the wt and would love to see them disappear, we cannot forget the ones inside will gladly donate, donate, donate.. just look at other churches!

Just look at other churches! They have managed to keep milking money from people for centuries.
Now why can't the WT do the same?

The genius of the new donation arrangement
by thedepressedsoul inive given this new arrangement a lot of detailed thought and how greatly it benefits the wt and how much it puts a strain on each congregation.. first, let me explain how the old arrangement worked.. you had 3 donation boxes in each kingdom hall.
one for worldwide work, one for kingdom hall construction and one for congregation contributions.. the congregation contribution box accounted for about 60-75% of all donations.
the world wide work box probably accounted for 20-30% and the kingdom hall construction for about 5% of the contributions.

You have to face the facts that Jesus is king and that you will not die before the fulfillment of bible prophecies. Jesus is just waiting another 2,000 years......:(

So sorry to report... this memorial was not the last one
by suavojr innothing new to report... this memorial was not the last one (sigh) :(.
on top of that, the assistance for my hall was the same as last year.
i don't see how they will break the 20 million mark.. also, with the current trend the brothers who partake publicly will most likely pass the 14,000.. how was the memorial in your part of the world?.

so sorry to hear that DD, but the dubs just probably said that Jah will make it right :(
Undercover,
I can't stand it!!! anytime we get together with some Jdubs, you always find one nut case who is talking about how close the end is and how we should follow the FDS.
100 years of failed predictions and counting!

Definition for the word prophecy:
noun [plural proph·e·cies.]
1. the foretelling or prediction of what is to come.
2. something that is declared by a prophet, especially a divinely inspired prediction, instruction, or exhortation.
3. a divinely inspired utterance or revelation: oracular prophecies. For centuries Christians have claim to have seen fulfilled prophecies in their lifetime. Unfortunately every Christian in history has died without seeing the coming of the Christ, peace on earth, the devil an his demons defeated, etc...
They are still waiting and waiting and waiting... Almost 2000 years and people still think Jesus will come back during their lifetime.
It is interesting to see how many believers and the WT included, claim to be fulfilling bible prophecies. The WT with their sats and door to door preaching, other denominations with their miracles, speaking in tongues, snake handling, God speaking to them, etc...
Yet, the definition for prophecy means that we do not need people to act on the details of the prophecy foretold in the bible.
How can it be considered prophecy, when you know ahead of time and try to fulfill it? Also, how do you know it is God's time to fulfill such a prophecy? Can mankind speedup God's judgement day? I frankly doubt it.The hard truth is that bible's prophecies should not need people to go out of their ways, to prove that Jesus is coming. The clock is ticking and you can wait for some old story to come true (prophecy), or get up and take responsibility for your life.
