i was reading an article from a '95 wt called "watch out for self righteousness" it exposes amiii as a true pharisee by their own definition.

the style and content sound a lot like ray franz but it obviously was not.

i am confident you would never see an article like this in todays wt land.

These points condemns them:

They appointed themselves judges and were prone to condemn anyone who did not meet their self-righteous standards. Their superior attitude and exaggerated self-esteem generated a need to control other people. Their inability to control Jesus enraged them, so they plotted his murder.—John 11:47-53.

But some have distorted these guidelines or
have added their own rules. In
one area all students in the Theocratic Ministry School had to wear suits and
button up their jackets when delivering a talk. A student who failed to do so
would be disqualified from giving future talks.

Extreme zeal can also deprive us of tact,
empathy, and tenderness, which are vital in our dealings with others. A personmay work very hard to advance Kingdom interests. However, his extreme zeal may hurt people along the way.

They hate anyone who shows love, understating, tenderness, empathy towards others and when a person stands up for what is right and proves to them they have no real power over them, they get enraged, and plot to cut them off with df’ing.

These men in their position enjoy setting up rules and more rules and then distort their own rules. They truly hurt people with their extreme zeal and at the end have cold & hollow hearts.

Governing Body sick of waiting! They want the paradise they were promised!

this post is going to suggest that the governing body remains, as ray franz wrote, "captives of a concept".

like every jehovah's witness they were raised with the belief that the the paradise would be here by now.

unlike others, they are in a position to do something about.. why wait to rule over the earth?

How does forum moderation work?

we've had a few comments lately that show that people don't seem to fully comprehend the way moderation works or the point of it.. if someone point something that other people don't like or agree with then that is a difference of opinion.

live with it.. if someone posts something that is crude, insulting, contains bad language etc.

then it violates the posting guildelines and can and should be removed.. now, sometimes we won't immediately notice a post that should be removed.

Dealing with people is not an easy task. Just remember people, 'we are slaves of the words we say or type" so think twice before posting and we should all be fine.

I never paid close attention to Tony's talks on youtube and this was the first time I got to hear a complete talk.

This jerk would be a great drinking buddy with judge Rutherford. It seems that if you want to prosper and move up within the JW's the more you act like the judge, the more spiritual they consider you. On the other hand, the more you act like Jesus, the faster you get kicked out, go figure

my wife went out of curiosity.

she is out enough to where it doesn't affect our marriage, but she keeps it a secret from her family and others.

she is beginning to understand what it means to give over your thinking to an organization, and once she works that out there will be no going back.. so she went to the branch visit.

consider a working man who works 40 to 60 hours a week and still manages to show up to all the meetings, participate, do all of his assigned work within the kh, but his ministry has slipped to 8 hours per month.

this same man is working hard to move up within the ranks only to get shut down without even knowing.. .

Wow flipper! That had to be tough. Thanks for sharing such intimate detail about your dad, looking back almost all nasty elders within the borg usually meet their match and someone who puts them in place. My own personal problem is the fear due to my JW upbringing. Amazing how this fear creeps up and leaves you frozen. But like you said, they are like any normal person alive.

I think I'm going to have to put this asshole in his place and hopefully it can get me kicked out.

For those wondering how can an active JW post or complain about elders is to help lurkers see how the problem is not an isolated incident. Also, I am planning my exit but on my terms and when I am ready... leaving a cult can be compared to planning your own funeral once you get diagnosed with a terminal illness.

Yes guys, it seems that with each passing year all that is left are just despots in charge. The situation is getting so bad that many have left the borg, moved congregation, and this guy has my wife taking notes of how the elders really are. I love that part.

I forgot about that term "exemplary" such a vague word and it is easily misused. What else to expect, it's a cult!
