Re: Revised Funeral Discourse Outline Dear Brothers: The Funeral Discourse (S-32) outline has been revised, and the new version has been posted on jw.org. The revision includes adjustments to the body of the outline and to the instructions for the speaker. The instructions now allow the speaker to include throughout his talk encouraging lessons from the faithful example of the deceased. Please use the revised outline when delivering funeral discourses. The revised outline is intended to help speakers deliver funeral discourses of greater warmth and comfort to the audience while still giving a fine witness that honors “the God of all comfort.”—2 Cor. 1:3. Please accept an expression of our warm Christian love.

the constellation of the pleiades is a small one compared with others which scientific instruments disclose to the wondering eyes of man.

so i am awoken for several years now (never really bought the cool aid) but for family reasons i am still enduring everything.

but my wife knows ... .

anyway so yesterday we had this boring meeting and as i was sitting there trying to make time pass faster i looked around me and i thought who else feels the same as me and is completely bored?

It's not that eady easy to spot, since the people who are awake (me included) need to masquerade our feelings and mostly bite our tongues. We all have to live within a closed environment where any slight dissent will take you to a judicial committee. It surely is a captive organization.

i am going to engage on a trip to the past and share with you some of the matters that marked the beginning of the jws persecution in cuba.

you will be surprised that the pattern that was followed is very similar to what happened in other dictatorial countries.. in the cuban case, i am going to surprise you and tell you that like what happened with hitler; the wt was partially responsible for their clash and confrontation with the cuban government.

during the early 60s the revolution was fighting for survival and they were willing and ready to demolish any perceived enemy to their cause.. a prime example was their war against the catholic church that was the most influential religious entity in the country; it took the supreme leader only a few public discourses to send the vast majority of clergy packing and back to their country, in this case spain.. the jehovah’s witnesses were an insignificant minority but they over estimated their importance and displayed a belligerent attitude, it was known that this was a us based religion and an easy target to connect them with the cia.

it is not about pedophile elders, although i've personally known three, two who were pedophiles at the time of their appointment by the governing body of jehovah's witnesses.. first of all a quick summary of what jehovah's witnesses are taught about the appointment of elders and ministerial servants:.

The Irrational Psychopath Landlord

well after a few years of lots thinking, questioning everything, and deconstructing of jw logic, i keep coming up against some problems.

though i probably consider myself an agnostic nowadays, one of the conclusions i keep coming back to is, if there is a god, looking at the way nature is structured, for example the predator-prey system that is indispensible to the survival of organisms, he is unlikely to be the same loving guy that's described in the bible (could he not have come up with a more compassionate system of survival in his limitless intelligence).

then again sometimes the actions described in the bible make him look like the description in the title of this thread... jw's definitely didn't help much with their logic.

Welcome to the first steps to free your mind. Morality comes from our ability as humans to predict future consequences of our actions and make choices to help us gain a better outcome for everyone involved. In the flood scenario, you clearly see how God only cares about his own egotistical importance. With time you will see God is dead, and yes we killed him. It is time for our species to leave behind our childish fears and embrace life for what it is. A brief moment in time.
