  Discussion with family member who is an Elder in our congregation

  so about a week ago, i showed my cousin & her husband [an elder in our congregation] the picture on pg 29 of our 4/15/2013 study wt and asked, "if jesus is head of the congregation then where is he?".

  after several minutes of searching, dead silence.. i then asked if they had heard the part on the 2012 summer district conv the part about "our spiritual mother, where the c.o said that "the bible by itself does not shine thru as life-giving truths just by itself.

  " they were shocked and said that i must have misheard it because that would be apostasy.

  I was actually on the phone with him for 1 1/2 hours, but didn't want to write everything in a 'War & Peace novel' haha But the reason he called me was not only to tell me that he had heard the DC talk say that, but asked me if they had sent the letter to me that the Catholic Church is sending around to their priests. I don't know if this is world wide, this country, or only in our state, But I told him that they had not sent it to me, but would like it. in this letter the CC is telling their priests NOT to use the name Jehovah in their sermons anymore becasue it is an invented name. So I asked Cousin Elder: Me: Have you ever done any research in the name Jehovah? E: Yes, I know that it's not God's name Me: Then why use it? E: Because that is the most popular form and we really don't know the true name of God Me: Then we should at least Yahweh since it's at least closer to the tetragramaton. Would you read an article from the Catholic website about the name Jehovah if I sent you the link? E: Yes I will Me: They even mention Jehovah's Witnesses in there E: In a negative way? Me: No, nothing negative, just that JW's have even taken that name for themselves when it's an invented name by a Dominican Monk Here's the link I sent him: http://www.catholic.com/quickquestions/is-gods-name-yahweh-or-jehovah We'll see. If I can just get him to think of 1 little thing that may not be true. Hopefully he'll read those things I sent him and think. They were shocked and said that I must have misheard it because that would be apostasy. But they had an audio copy of the conv. and would listen to it and get back to me.

  So cousin elder calls me this afternoon and says that yes, they heard them say that.

  Me: Do you remember what you said that it would be apostasy?

  E: I never said that, but now that I heard the entire thing it's like the Ethiopian Eunich and we cannot understand the bible without 'Mother's' help.

  Me: But people have been reading and understanding the bible for thousands of years without the WTS.

  E: But all your knowledge, where did you get it?

  Me: From reading and studying the bible.

  E: But who helped you understand all these deeper things of God?

  Me: Russell started this religion and he didn't have anyone teaching him, he just started reading the bible and came up with his ideas.

  E: but he studied the bible searching for truth with help of the holy spirit

  Me: Russel was a whackadoodle that was into pyramids and Freemasons symbols [Told him to get his Proclaimer's book pg 88] You see his books at the top of the page? Those outstretched wings are the Egyptian Sun disk for one of their God's and the WT has mason symbols all over it how is that finding the truth. He took a little from every religion of the day

  E: But like you he started without knowing and made some mistakes, like the pyramid thing, celebrating x-mas etc

  Me: Yeah but I'm not starting my own religion claiming to be the ONLY channel thru God to salvation either!"

  So, I will more than likely be hearing from our local elders. I did send my cousin & him the article from the Guardian magazine about the WTS being members of the U.N and he promised they would read it, but he doesn't believe it for a minute and told me so.

  Point to all this. You cannot reason with the Jdubs. If they cannot hear the true shepherd's voice becasue of the WT cult brain washing then the error is their's.

  Has a wrong disfellowshipping ever been reversed?

  im not talking about simply being reinstated.

  i remember hearing a story about a brother that was disfellowshipped because of the testimony of two false witnesses.

  years passed before they admitted to lying about the brother and was reinstated.. what is policy in this sort of situation?

  My single sister had an affair with a married Non-Witness, got pregnant, but because she went in there crying her eyes out and saying how sorry she was, and how it had ruined her life and Jehovah would never forgive her.

  They only 'Publicly reproved' her because she had been thru enough. Meanwhile a friend of ours, single sister, about the same age, slept with her boyfriend, got pregnant and the SAME elders DF'd her. The minute they announced that my sister was only PR'd the sister's father raised a big stink and threatened a lawsuit against the JC elders for discrimination [Because his daughter was barely attending meetings]. The following week the elders announced that after careful consideration, they reduced the other sister's status to only PR'd also.

  i always knew as a kid tt wasnt for me.

  i did not know ttatt but how could something thats supposed to be warm, loving and beneficial feel so wrong?

  the light went on when i happened to be watching some chat show that had a family of white supremecists on.

  so where do you start?.

  i've been reading peoples experiences for several months now trying to figure out what i want to say but how do you put your whole life into a few words?.

  i was a born in but have been happy and free for 5 years and luckily for me my husband felt the same way and we have freed our children from being brainwashed.

You're among friends who understand what you've been thru. I would have kept the briefcase and just dumped everything onto the stage and take your case with you. LOL

  im amazed how going witnessing sisters who knew me for decades would sit only in the back seat on the way to the hall...to avoid any sex at the traffic lights!!!

  and chaperons 1840's style are needed because two witnesses alone for 10 minutes would go at it like animals even after all the training watchtower articles and talks being jahs clean org.

  Sweetie, you forgot to mention how your future in-laws freaked out when you were bringing him home and the two of you would be flying home alone, across country, in airports & on the airplane sitting together!!!!

  I finally told my parents

  so as some of you already may know, i have stopped going to meetings for good and have nothing to do with wbts anymore...did not write a letter of disassociation because i dont believe an organization should spiritually execute me for rejecting men's tradition and false doctrine...some of you may recall i spoke to my wife and are in good terms, even though she's still an active jw.

  my parents are both active jw's...when i visited them yesterday, they clearly did not expect me to tell them i had left the "org"...to my huge surprise, after i explained to them i had found ttatt (truth about the truth) and gave compelling evidence of my reasoning, and using the scriptures, they totally sided with me...i was dumbfounded...one of my parents even brought up ray franz and his book coc....i was like wtf??.

  they told me all of these years they never had the guts to say anything about the hypocrisy in this org and they were glad that i as their son was able to step up and believe what is right and what is on the bible...they re-assured their love to me and they were happy i had found happiness in jesus christ and the need to have a personal relationship with him and not through a man made organization.... i totally did not expect this response from my parents...but it just leaves me to think that there are thousands of active jw's out there feeling the same way and don't have the courage to step up to the org...still don't know what they are going to do, but i got the feeling they will do the same eventually and move on from the wbts.... have a great week everyone.

  my wife has seen the amount studying i am doing, just hasnt known what all subjects instudy.
