I remember a lot of student's made valid points contrary to what the BibleTeach taught. I always dismissed them with invalid arguments and kept going. Wish I would have paid a little more attention, but ,honestly, I just wanted to be done with the study and go home. That was my study policy - go get it done. I always loved it when they would cancel on me. It made my day!

You know it's time to give up the JW religion when your route call tells you to
by jambon1 inlasting memory of the latter period of time in the organisation:.
i had a route call with the magazines whom i'd called on for a number of years.
eventually when i become a parent i became consumed with negativity, doubt (blood issue) & depression.

My Thanksgiving Tradition As One of Jehovah's Witnesses
by TMS inthe jw prohibition of celebrating holidays includes the american celebration of thanksgiving, a sort of innocuous harvest festival, where thanks is given for the year's blessings.
a typical family eats a large meal together, including turkey and all the trimmings.
in recent decades, nfl football, always involving the dallas cowboys and detroit lions, has become part of the routine, as well as drinking beer.. every year or so, the "awake!

I know many JW families that make a big deal dinner with friends and family a day or two after the official date. Turkey and all the trimmings. We've done it ourselves. Last year we actually did it the day of and it was great. Delicious food and nice comforting weather.

November broadcast makes thier strategy clear.
by Crazyguy inthier talk at this summers district conventions about shunning faders was a bit unclear and many said it was pointing out that only jws were to shun wrongdoers not specifically faders.
this new broadcast makes it now obvious that those who leave the meetings have left jehovah so therefore they are to be shunned as a form of discipline.
there can be no mistake that they do not want any of thier cult members associating with faders or those that have left the cult.

How so? Do they specifically mention they should be shunned?

HLC and privacy rights
by StarTrekAngel insome time ago i used to work at a hospital.
when my family members would receive treatment at this place, often times they would ask me if i could look up information for them regarding their health.
i always had to tell them that privacy laws did not allow me to bypass the hospital's administration.

I agree on thinking they are above the law. On an occasion or two elders bypassed privacy issues just to catch someone and bring them to a JC. I'm not sure but what was done would probably violate some law at the most.

Watchtower structural workers raise the concrete wings of the primary spillway an additional four feet and repair the structural cracks.
Surprised they weren't labeled as "volunteers" rather "workers.

"The G.B. is neither inspired nor infallible"
by smiddy inthat admission in the feb.17 ,study edition of the watchtower , " who is leading gods people today ?
" "the governing body is neither inspired, nor infallible, therefore it (they/we) can err in doctrinal matters or in organizational direction .".
have the many jehovahs witnesses past and present who have lost their lives by refusing blood transfusions due to the prohibition on blood tranfusions by jehovahs witnesses really got the sense of this statement ?.

I feel like this just gives jDubs more fuel. Saying "see I told you they are imperfect and can make mistakes, they are doing the best they can. At least they admit their mistakes"
UGGHH, I hate fighting this logic. What would your followup be to the above response?
