Had a nice evening.... I had a nice dinner with colleagues... For once, I allowed myself to just relax... So they managed to get me rather tipsy... got six-seven Sambuca shots on a row, in addition to beer and wine... But we had a great and relaxed and fun time... Pure fun... And no worries about anyone taking offense...

Hi! Welcome to the forum. It is brave of you to stand up for yourself at such a young age. But beware of the implications involved. However, being honest about oneself will ease many burdens... I did not have the guts to come out until the age of 41 - after years of being a baptized JW, elder etc. And having a family, kids etc. You´ll be free to create your own life according to your orientation. (I do not regret my life though, but finally I found out I had to accept what I am). Also, feel free to e-mail me: [email protected] that goes for others, gays and non-gays alike. I also like to chat from time to time. Have a nice day!

What did you dream of last night? Do you remember?
by JH in.
i dreamt that there was a hurricane, and the house was falling apart because of the strong winds.. i was afraid of losing my cat through the holes in the house, because the house was falling apart .
sounds more like a nightmare than a dream....

I dreamt I accidentally met my sister at a sport event, and she deliberately shunned me and I yelled You damn Jehovah’s witness to her.. (I guess this honestly is my subconsciesness showing me that I fear my family´s reaction when I am coming out as gay to them. It was bad enough for them that I left the elderhood and the truth....

Poll: How many Quit school to pioneer? And: Did you go to college?
by theredhead inhow many of you quit school to pioneer or just because?
and please explain why you quit...
also: did you go to college?
-
InquiryMan
Did not pioneer - could not stand the ever-ending "encouragement". Was however very zealous in ministry, Aux. pionereed often. Did not pursue school after 19 yrs - in spite of top grades. My teachers thought it was a disgrace. My parents would not have stopped me if I had gone further, but the admonishment given at assemblies, meetings and in the literature was sufficient for me not to pursue more education and even pursuing a career later on... But they did not encourage me either :-(

MORE BRAIN-DEAD QUOTES FROM APRIL 15 WT
by Mary ini really think those in the writing dept.
should be checked over for dementia or just plain insanity.
here are some highlights from the april 15th wt magazine that i thought you'd enjoy:

InquiryMan
Right on target. I had top grades, but skipped education due to the big emphasis on not having an education. My teachers were shocked. Although I have chosen not to be bitter, and enjoy my work, I am a bit appalled that I was so brainwashed.

hi! I follow the example of a fellow poster and want to express my gratitude for all the input I got on my story. I appreciate that. Things are going really well now. I’ve told two colleagues at my work on myself being gay, and they both responded wonderfully. I still haven’t told my children and witness family, so the "hard ones" remain. I have , however, become much stronger in the past weeks so I am sure I´ll cope somehow. I had the most amazing experience last Friday. I went to a social gathering of my Late bloomers group, and besides meeting some from "my" group I also met some from the previous group. It turned out that four of them actually know my favourite colleague. And this is quite a coincidence, after all the odds aren’t that big that in a group of 9 people, six know the same person in a region of a million people! The one I got the best contact with, actually works so close from my work that I can watch his place of work. On Sunday, my colleague at work (a wonderful woman) and this man will go the movies together. (Brokeback again of course). I saw it alone last time, and so did he, so it would be nice to be able to digest and be able to talk about it. So right now I am really happy cause life is on track again. If those who initially responded to me in pm’s would drop a line or two I’d only be very happy for that! Have a nice week all of you. Morty.

It was a very interesting story. It is possible to go on without the WT frame being present in one’s life. It is liberating to be outside that box.

Last night, I attended my first monthly social evening of members of the support organization I am taking part in. When I mentioned my place of work, I was quite asonished when one of them asked, do you know ...! And indeed I do. It is my favourite female colleague at work, a very nice caring, non-judgmental woman a bit younger than myself. In fact we have lunch together every day (with a group). Four of those I met yesterday (out of 8 attending) happened to know her - the one I am planning to come out to on Monday. She has even attended parties with them... After all, there are 1 million people living in my region, so the odds to meet someone that close is not that big... Sure, a small world... One of the group members even lived just a few kilometres from my place of work... I am amazed.
