This is at the assembly halls as far as i understand, not the local kingdom halls?
so the setting is somewhat different.
i received the following email from a former jw that i thought to share.
note: i retyped the boe letter that was sent from the christian congregation of jehovahs witnesses to all congregations in the us.
the letter is authentic.

How come American ex-Jws react so strongly to this?
It has been a method of giving in Europe for years/decade(s).
Now they´re starting to implement the chip in cards in the US.
In my area we had a test programme starting using them in the early 80s....
in need of my continuing search for spirituality and my desire to find a church where i can be welcomed and have good enjoyable spiritual conversation with its members, jack and i decided today that we would visit the baptist church near his home.
it was punkofnice who suggested it.
x. well... i loved it!.
I also attend a non judgmental church, albeit Lutheran... It is nice to be welcomed as a complete human being.
my old kingdom hall at berwick-on-tweed has finally been sold to an art dealer after being on the market for a couple of years.. this week they were granted planning permission for a quick build on a site in a village just outside the town.
"rev matthew knox, vicar of tweedmouth and priest in charge of st peters church in scremerston, argued the plan should be turned down because it is not a place of christian worship as stated in the application.".
the story is the front page headline today in my local paper, the berwick advertiser.. here is a couple of gems from the article... "it is not part of churches together in berwick, it has its own translation of the bible and to my knowledge discourages independent thinking with the real threat of members being shunned by all other members if they dispute their governing bodys official doctrine.".
The Kingdom hall looked rather spooky in a way ...

This has been possible in Norway for at least a decade...
Donations are also tax deductable....
dad was a great man, great, despite the religion.
he was powerful, tall and intelligent, yet humble and kind.
he was an introvert, and a circuit overseer.
Your eulogy was written in a beautiful and tender way, and respectful way. It brought tears to my eyes. I hope the funeral will be of comfort to you and that your former friends will behave gracefully.
When I attended my grandmothers funeral, several sisters gave me hugs and the brother giving the talk and his wife stopped talking to me for several minutes. The former fellow elders though passed me without even giving me a glance of sympathy. Good and "bad" people everywhere.
Take care and hope you and your mother will have some contact even in the time to come.
Regards from the other side of the world.
beth sarim:.
beth sarim was built in 1929 as a proof that the resurrection would soon take place.
(salvation, p. 311).
I am a bit surprised that Beth Sarim seems sometimes to be new knowledge of former JWs...
It is after all acknowledged in the Proclaimer book and also mentioned in articles from time to time...
also the Pyramidology of Russel´s time is mentioned in the Proclaimer book, as well as the usage of cross and celebration of christmas.
what is wyd?
: it is a great worldwide encounter with the pope which is celebrated every three years in a different country.
this time it was celebrated in madrid from august 16th to 21st, 2011.. spain branch, secretly, used 400 youth jehovah's witnesses --in blue jeans-- to preach the pilgrims.
They have done the same before I think. There was an article in the magazined about a previous catholic youth rally... Cannot remember when though... Perhaps blondie can be of help :-)
i grew up being a witness.
i remember in elementary and somewhat in middle school i used to be really outspoken about being a witness.
i even had my own study with a classmate, which thankfully he lost interest because i was getting tired of it too.. but high school was a different story.
The funny thing is that I took an active part in school activities any way. Was part of the school council, part of the editorial staff of the school newspaper and also giving the graduation talk on behalf of the students....

I guess i was a true believer and not only because mom and dad told me so...
