Well, I feel not like judging another fellow human being.
Perhaps he has the guts to follow his own path even amid a strict system.

he also translated the Ethiopian holy book of Kebra Galast, the holy book of the EthÃophians.
See following link on an interview with him and the translation and its contents.
Quite strange in a way, cause a lot of its contents is contrary to JW beliefs. Still he contributes in spreading them to a wider audience.

In fact I remember that newspaper item. Also, in 1972, he was granted audience to appear before the King having the title of preacher/publisher attached to his name.
So, possible san, it might not have been possible in Japan, but it is in Norway.

It is a well known fact among JWs in Norway that Rolf Furuli is an academic. He has been interviewed on TV, given interviews as a JW representative in newspapers etc... so he is definitely a rather high profile witness in Norway.

He is an elder, and also pursued his academic career while being a witness. It is not an academic who became a witness, but a witness becoming an academic.

Islam More Lenient on Apostates than the WTBTS!
by 00DAD inislam more lenient on apostates than the wtbts!.
this morning i came across this thought provoking comment in a cnn news article:.
harris zafar, national spokesperson of the ahmadiyya muslim community usa, does not mince words on the subject, stating in a huffington post opinion piece that "islam prescribes absolutely no punishment for apostasy.".

Interestingly, the Ahmadiyya Muslims are not regarded as true moslems by other moslems.
They are in fact regarded as the JWs of islam by many....
