  I think in general Norwegian jw's have a more positive view of the authorities in spite of the theology.

  Of course. Back in the days a talk like was given at the hall and the legal marriage was performed at the town hall/court house. These days I think it has even more to do with the withdrawal of that right being the only religious community not having this legal right. They feel they are discriminated against

  This is often the case. One elder giving the wedding talk, and the one who officiates the exchange of vows and the paper work is another brother who has been through a course and authorized by state to do so.

  the twickenham post made me think of this.

  i have a few jw family members on facebook and being summertime, their pics of the convention have shown up in my fb feed.

  along with their comments about "i wished it would never end" or "what a glorious weekend".

  I did enjoy the programme a lot. Especially the release talks, final talk subdayy, reports from other countries, interviews, drama... But I also looked forward starting school again during the middel of school holidays. 🤣

  what happens when a jehovah’s witness who has been disfellowshipped returns to attending the meetings again?.

  if it's the same congregation that they previously attended then, yes, the congregation will remember who they are and so continue to treat them as dead or invisible.. one of the identifying marks a cult is that it uses shame and humiliation to control members, to keep them from leaving and manipulating those who escaped into coming back.. a disfellowshipped person is never allowed to quietly leave with dignity.

  A very close friend of mine for many years got reinstated after having been df for 20 years. Different congregstion (did know the elders though). Only attending zoom meetings in a congregation 100 km away from her home.

  Not true about Europe. Content exactly the same (some times a local statistics or footnote added).. Several years ago it was delayed due translation, but after meps etc this has not been so for decades. i do not think it is published simultaneously these days in most languages, more languages today, but far less issues and content (public editions).

  The som of the Presiding Overser in my congratulation when I was still in, was a big rock fan. He did a Metallica performance at a school concert. His parents did not object. The som is om and an elder today.
