Anybody at an assembly right now?
by OneDayillBeFree ini know this is a long shot and my identity as a witness is certainly at stake but anyone at a circuit assembly right now who is mentally out/disfellowshipped/faded who'd like to meet up?.
i can't disclose the location but i'm curious though.
i mean i know that there are assemblies and conventions all year long so i'm pretty sure there's more than one going on now but i'm extremely bored and annoyed and can barely keep from showing my anger at hipocresy and lies that are being said on the platform!

Do you miss feeling that "Jehovah" was listening to prayers?
by LyinEyes inthis is hard to explain, but i will try.
the other day, my neice was put in the hospital for test , after having two seizures, she is 20 and has never had any medical problems at all.
i now know, that by doing that it seemed to take the burden of helplessness off of my shoulders.

I think if God is there, then HE/SHE is what gives us peace of mind when praying.
If there is no God, then praying is still beneficial because it is like writing everything down in a journal, unburdening yourself. I have decided to start trying to pray again, I am desperate for there to be a God who is listening to me and everyone else, and that there is a reason for all the crap in the world.
Yes i definitely miss feeling like "jehovah" was listening to my prayers. Now im like those people in the bible with the alter to an unknown god. must work out how on earth Im going to pray now?? must read the gospel accounts again, the OT does NOT make me want to talk to "Him"

Being Agnostic is depressing me....
by SkyGreen infor those that dont know my story, basically i "woke up the ttatt" about a year ago, started fading, then went back, now fading again because i just cant stomach it anymore.
my husband is very supportive, although he's still "in" for now, and trying to be regular with meetings and witnessing, he can see my point of view now, and often notices things in the wt or other publications that are "off".
the fading thing is hard, sometimes i want to da, but because of the upheaval it would cause my family, im waiting a little while - i guess hoping that my husband will be on the same page at some point, so that we can support eachother.

On to the point of my post... im feeling really depressed, as Im sure many of you can relate to the heart sinking feeling of your faith being shattered. Being someone that was always so sure that Jehovah was up there, loving me, about to fix all that is wrong with the world... and now its like I have nothing.
I truly admire the faith of some of you (unstoppable ravens, tec/tammy to name a couple), but at the same time completely understand the athiesm/agnostisism of others.
At the moment I am finding it hard to reconcile the God of the OT, with Jesus in the NT. I just cant accept that the God or Jehovah of the OT is loving or worth worshipping.
Although i just dont know what to believe any more, I am leaning towards a more traditional christian faith, based on Jesus teachings. Mind you, isnt that all we can all really do in life? Love thy neighbour and all that? I truly believe that if more people actually lived by those basic principles, the world would be a better place. However, the bible is so old, we cant be sure of it being 100% authentic really can we? so there is no room for dogmatism or extremism. Ive said it before and I'll say it again, "God, if you're there, and you truly care... please make it obvious??"
Was feeling so torn up about this, now I feel better having got it off my chest, and knowing that so many of you will REALLY GET IT.
Happy new year everyone, I hope 2013 brings you all health, happiness, wealth, whatever it is you are searching for, and if you've already found it, then the strength to hold on to it.
Love to you all

Do the elders have "clear direction" that it's ok to use an ipad at meetings?
by nochoice ini read this post more than a year ago: http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/jw/friends/212313/1/watchtower-publications-for-ipad.
since i saw it, i've been waiting for the first brother or sister to show up at the hall with an ipad to see what happens.

What do you mean?! I ALWAYS go to the beach after service and wear long pants and button up shirts while I play a game in the sand with my family! Sometimes I wear button up long sleeve shirts too!
by Crisis of Conscience inthe wts likes to imply how jws should dress in and outside of the hall.

lol, this was taken at west beach (i think) Adelaide, Australia. Some people in my parents cong recognised a couple of bros and sis in it, and know the bro who took the pic.
Definitely playing cricket.
It wouldnt be entirely unheard of to be wearing long sleeves and pants if its taken in spring or autumn - it can be beautiful sunny days but still pretty chilly. But not that formal!
However in Adelaide summers, you wear as little as possible unless you are in air conditioning!
