This is really odd, seems very disorganised for the Society who pride themselves on being so organised. Here in my part of australia all the congregations were invited, we had two meetings at most halls on sunday and some congregations combined. It was stressed that it wasnt a public meetibg although a couple of regular "interested ones" who heard about it at the meetings still showed up. We were encouraged ti go to our own congregation but if we werent able, to make sure we let the elders in our hall know and get oermission from the elders in the hall we planned ti attend. At most meetings there were enough bibles for every adult publisher to receive one, at others only enough for one per family. In some halls because they have smaller cobgregations there are more to go around. Poor britain! Sounds like they've got a raw deal! I also feel bad for all the non english speaking rank and file who will still be waiting many months to "catch up" very odd move by the org. Persibally I would have thought that those who could download the app would be encouraged to do so and allow the elderly or less techno savvy to have the printed bibles. At least the app is available for general use.

The Real Aftermath of the AGM...Part 2
by raymond frantz infor the ones based in britain only the "few" were invited to attend the agm .they received their new grey bible and the rumor was that the new bible will not be available for the rest of the congragations until january .it was confirmed tonight .a letter was read as local announcement that the new bibles will not be available until the end of january for the rest of the congragation .all the in crowd were sat there with their new flashy bible looking smug.also the bible reading was read from the new bible to make it all the more obvious ..... the real aftermath of agm....

I need some serious advice...
by confusedteenager ini'm almost a year out of high school and of course, i'm not in college.
i'm a pioneer (sigh) with little to no work experience and having a really hard time finding any work.
i want to go back to college, but it's going to be difficult now that i'm a pioneer, and my parents cannot really afford the loans that will incur should i pursue going to college.

not sure if anyone already said this, but there are lots of free "personality profiling" tests online, one being the jung/briggs-myer. If you are struggling to work out a career fit for you, try http://www.humanmetrics.com/cgi-win/jtypes2.asp its quick and free and might give you a few ideas. Some debate how good this test is, but i just did it myself a few days ago and i have to say, the career options it suggested were spot on.
I dont know enough about US education system to suggest what to do about finances, but i have read on here that there are some free courses. And check with your old highschool, they may have counsellers who could help.
I wish you all the best
Love, Sky x

This is so awful, always seems more shocking when this happens in a western country. Sadly this is a daily reality for so many in parts of the world like syria. But just because its happening everywhere doesnt make this less tragic.
Cuts me to the core when i hear of children being killed, this is just too much. WHY!!!!??????
My love and thoughts to everyone in Boston right now.... hold those you love tightly...

I just enjoyed a glass of red with my lunch and read this awesome story - highly reccommend it Re: You just gotta read the story, Fade From the Truth, A Tale of Learning Then Unlearning the Beliefs of JWs

This thread was recently bumped : Re: You just gotta read the story, Fade From the Truth, A Tale of Learning Then Unlearning the Beliefs of JWs
If you click on the link to the story, its a great read. The author himself is a recovering alcoholic, and found an AA group for Athiests and Agnostics - not sure how many would be around now, but why not contact AA and ask the question?

You just gotta read the story, Fade From the Truth, A Tale of Learning Then Unlearning the Beliefs of JWs
by AndersonsInfo inevery once in a while there's a story so well told that it deserves lots and lots of kudos and plugs.
here's that 124-book length story which is the first one linked from "exclusive autobiographies" on the home page of www.watchtowerdocuments.com.
read it free!.
