Qualifying For A Kingdom Hall Funeral
by minimus inone of the most despicable things i can remember is having the elders determining whether or not you “qualified” for proper funeral services in a kingdom hall and if the talk could be given by an elder.
people are hurting terribly and the family is then told, even though the deceased was a member of the congregation, they still weren’t good enough to qualify for proper burial services per the congregation!

Do JW's actually have real funerals? I've been to some services, but they have been memorial services. I don't remember ever seeing a casket inside a Hall. Is bringing a casket inside against the rules? How about urns?
When my Grandmother passed, her service wasn't allowed in the hall as she had never been dedicated. I guess that reason is a little understandable. She was a much loved part of the local congregation though. What I found irritating about the sermon...I mean talk...was when the elder explained to the gathered the reason the service wasn't held at the hall. WTF did that have to do with anything?
I don't know why my Grandmother didn't get baptized. Personally I think it was a great move to decline that calling. What I do know is my Grandmother had more Grace in the tip of her little finger than most dedicated JW's have in their entire being.
RIP Grandma. Twenty plus years on, you are missed by many.

Child entertainers have no childhood. JW kids have no childhood. Add in an abusive father (he'd watch his children rehearse with a belt in hand, ready to punish any mistake) and a mother pushing abusive JW dogma (developing minds filled with visions of Apocalypse), is anyone surprised that Michael Jackson turned into an abuser? Can anyone say with certainty that they would have turned out differently?
Will I stop listening to him? I haven't purposely played him in a long time so I can't take a position either way. I do know I won't be purging my collection of all things Jackson because of the controversy.

Last night I attended a monthly SJW League Open Mic Freestyle Poetry event (followed by a locally sourced, organic, vegan buffet). When it was my turn, I decided to not read my haiku poem about the genius Jussie being prosecuted (persecuted) for the crime of using performance art to raise awareness of his myriad struggles. Instead I read word for word the exchange I had with this Shirley. When I finished, the audience sat in stunned silence. Then one person stood and applauded. Soon the entire audience gave a standing ovation, marveling at how - instead of being intimidated into silence by the anonymity of the internet as so many are - I bravely confronted this social injustice.
Afterwards the three of us enjoyed the buffet and excitedly talked about the Green New Deal and how implementation will relegate Trump's America to the dustbin of history. It'll also leave people like the monster Robert Kraft penniless and no longer able to exploit the marginalized working poor at Outback Steakhouse or enjoy illegally trafficked sex slaves. Utopia is near!

I may have been judgmental. I didn't know the strip mall had a nail salon AND an Outback Steakhouse, too. Get a mani/pedicure, have a nice massage with stress relief, and finish with one of those Bloomin' Onion things with baby back ribs. Not a bad way for a billionaire to spend the afternoon.

What's baffling when this happens, men like Kraft have vast resources. Why would they go to a massage parlor in a strip mall of all places. Is Kraft a cheapskate? It seems pathetic.
