Thanks for the read Atlantis. Never read it before, but I have heard elders say on occasion unity is the number one thing. Pretty crazy they call themselves “The Truth.”

JWs - Followers of Men - 100% Proof
by BourneIdentity infor those that are convinced they are not following man, but jehovah, this example is 100% proof they follow men.
if they twist this to say they don't follow man, well, there is no hope for them.. the bible is very clear to honor your father and mother, it was and is so important, it's listed as one of the 10 commandments.
when that parent leaves the truth, either due to disassociation or being disfellowshipped, the child shuns them for life.

What I'm getting at is the Governing Body needs to obtain some "New Light", so they aren't in violation of the Scriptures. This isn't some request to make something easier to live by for members, this is something that needs to be done to be in compliance with Jehovah, the Bible and the truth. It concerns me very much that the majority of JWs are 100% loyal to the Slave when just an example like this shows they put their own agenda above Jehovah's. And it's very concerning when they have been saying in talks and broadcasts that everyone needs to completely trust them, even if it makes zero sense from a human standpoint. What do they have in the works? They are prepping everyone for some crazy things to come from their mouths. I know some have thought another Jonestown is coming, but I don't think they are that crazy. I'm guessing they could plan on fleecing the flock out of more money.Neat blue dog,i will post the link to Brother Lett saying that as soon as I find it, stay tuned. -

Drearyweather,
Your example is as extreme as it can get as well. Most leave because they see it’s all bullshit, not a reason for a child to shun them for life.
The only scriptures that support any type of silent treatment would be an active unrepentant sinner or someone not believing Jesus was the Christ. Saying this man made Organization is not the truth is neither one of those, so it’s very unscriptural.

Drearyweather,
Of course not, but that is up to the child to decide, not man to force it. We are all accountable to Jehovah for our actions, so whether we decide to follow something in the Bible or not based on what’s happened is between us and him, not man to oppress and force it.
What about the elders that molest children, are all the members supposed to keep showing them honor, or even double honor as they suggest?

The Bible is very clear to honor your father and mother, it was and is so important, it's listed as one of the 10 Commandments. When that parent leaves the truth, either due to disassociation or being disfellowshipped, the child shuns them for life. How is giving your father or mother the silent treatment for the rest of their life showing them honor? It's impossible, and if some JW can reason they are, there isn't any hope for them. As I said, the Bible is very clear that Jehovah wants you to honor your parents. So who will you listen to, Jehovah and his Word, or man?
I recall a monthly broadcast not too long ago by Brother Lett. I think he was saying we need to be totally obedient to the Slave, then he added, unless it was in violation of the Scriptures. I can't think of a better example where we would not be obedient to the Slave.

Wow, and I thought JWs were the only ones that acted so crazy putting a cult before flesh and blood!
Sounds like the same response as JWs, “she left for pleasures and materialism.” Don’t they realize a lot leave because they have a conscience to live by and see through all the bullshit?

A Question for Born-ins Who Had a Parent Leave the Cult Before They Did
by jp1692 inquestion: have any of you that are now exjws had a parent leave the religion before you, and you shunned them because of that?
if so—and while you were still in the cult—what, if anything, could your parent have done to reach your heart and begin a reconciliation?
it’s been almost ten years since i left the religion and my two sons continue to shun me and rebuff all efforts i make to reconcile.

Unfortunately, like others have stated, most won't wake up to the extreme cruelty of disfellowshipping and shunning until the religion victimizes them or a close family member.I feel sorry for so many in the religion that refuse to look in their Bible and past examples from the Bible, how Jehovah and Jesus dealt with people to gain a better understanding, rather than give unwavering obedience to the Hateful Eight in Warwick.Did Jesus shun anyone while he was on earth? No.Is there a single example in the Bible where family members shunned other family members? No.Was Judas shunned for betraying Jesus? No.Was Satan disfellowshipped from the heavens after he became an opposer of Jehovah? No, in fact according to JWs belief, he got to hang around until 1914 when he was kicked out and hurled to the earth. Was the prodigal son shunned when he returned after sleeping with all the hookers? No.I can't stand when I hear them justify their actions by sharing the scripture that Jesus came to the earth to cause divisions and separate families. Talk about misinterpreting a scripture. If he meant for family members to shun one another, Jehovah would have made sure there was an example in the Bible showing how it's done. Causing divisions in this scripture means differing opinions. Like in politics, there is divisions. Lots of differing views and opinions, but they don't all shun one another because one doesn't see things the way the other does. Pretty easy to understand, but those Hateful Eight have done a hell of a job conning people, they are masters of their craft, no doubt about it. -

The ineffectiveness of the Watchtower Society preaching work
by RULES & REGULATIONS inhow can the watchtower society claim effectiveness in their 140 years of preaching the ''good news''..... spending billions of hours in ''field service'', having the ''faithful and discreet slave'' lead the preaching work, passing out billions of watchtower literature since the 1870's, while the pentecostals have been more effective using other evangelical methods?

Counting field service time is so pointless. I've only aux. pioneered a couple times in my life, but it's so easy to log that time for the month and accomplish nothing at all. You can just ride along with others on their return visits, Bible studies, or drive out further to territories, take a few doors, and then go on break. Or what about letter writing and doing it all by hand. In a morning of letter writing, you maybe get 5 letters done, while you could type one, change the name and print off 100 and send them off to reach the most people. The WT is always encouraging people to ask self reflecting questions. So here it is, "Is this letter writing more about my own statistics of how much time I can log, or is it about reaching as many as I can with a life saving message?"
I really think they need to get rid of counting hours, it's just so unproductive to people like me that want to look good, while doing nothing, lol. I've told relatives I think they need to get rid of the hours and set a goal for aux pioneer like offering a Bible study 10 times for the month, spending 5+ minutes engaging someone in a discussion, those sorts of things. That would actually make the brothers and sisters take some action and do something that would be productive. But it also seems so ridiculous to log these stats in the first place, Jesus didn’t care about any of that. I don’t feel the preaching work from JWs standpoint is meant to be productive, it’s more so there to keep everyone occupied and busy, so they don’t have downtime to think about how crazy some of these beliefs are.

It's ineffective because very little is done. Sure, they say it's over 2 billion hours per year, but let's think about that a minute.
I live in an area where there is a lot of rural territory. You have to get out, take the door, get back in the car and drive down the road maybe a 1/2 mile to a mile before the next one. It's not uncommon to fill up a minivan with 7 people and do that for a morning. When all is said and done, that's 21 hours logged among them all and how much time was spent going to a door, maybe 20 minutes?
I believe of those 2 billion hours, it includes the Bethel workers slaving away for the Organization, again, no preaching to anyone is involved with that.
JWs get to count time to do relief work when there is a natural disaster. Sure, they may informally witness here and there, but again, very little preaching is done in those scenarios.
At a new Hall build, let's say there are 100 brothers and sisters working a 10 hour day. That's 1000 hours logged for the day, and no preaching was accomplished.
Take 2 people standing at a cart sipping coffee and looking at their phones. 6 hours logged and maybe only a conversation or two.
All the family heads counting time doing family worship. Their wife and kids could be baptized, but they still get to count all that time, 4 hours per month.
When one looks at the reality of it all, you can see how very little is being done. Jehovah can't bring the end until the good news has been preached in all the inhabited earth. Looks like he's gonna have to wait a few more hundred years at this rate, or maybe Jehovah will have the stones cry out!
