No, he didn’t make any outrageous statement like that. But who knows, that could be coming Sunday in his concluding part!

Have any of you just had a recent circuit overseer visit? We have him this week and his opening night was a doozy. His whole talk focused on persecution. One of the videos he played was when the authorities raided the Kingdom Hall in Russia. They were holding guns and wearing masks. It was involving Dennis Christensen and his 6 year prison sentence. During the raid, they edited in some pretty serious dramatic music to scare ones. I felt bad for children watching it. The theme of the talk was something like Satan will have no success against us. I think the Organization or the CO picked that theme to sound encouraging, but it was just a scare tactic to get people to do more as always. I would think the Society would have ordered all circuit overseers to discuss this same thing, unless the circuit overseer has somewhat freedom to choose what he’s going to deliver during his visits. It just boggles my mind how JWs are supposed to be the happiest people on earth and sharing good news, which couldn’t be further from the truth. They are the most depressed people and share very bad news.
the first half of the may 2019 jw broadcast focused on anxiety.
for them to devote this much time to this issue is evidence there are many jws suffering from it.
i would assume at least half of the members from my observation over the years.

What bothered me about it is the tips they gave to people to reduce it will do nothing. They failed to mention the 2 biggest things one can do, take medication and exercise. There is no cure for the disorder, but those 2 things can help a a lot. Anxiety is a disorder, it’s not something we can just talk ourselves out of. The chemicals in our bodies need to be adjusted, either through medication and/or exercise (endorphins).
All of us know the agenda of the WT is to push people to serve them, so their tips aren’t surprising. But one would think they’d show some love and want to see their people gain some relief from this horrible disorder, rather than continue to tell them to pray to Jehovah. All this will do is cause more guilt when they do that and it doesn’t work, they are left assuming they are not good enough and Jehovah isn’t answering their prayers. I hope a lot of these anxiety sufferers look to the wisdom of the world to cope, because the Dubs sure aren’t going to be the answer for them.

JW Gone Bad
The Society always has bragged they aren’t like Christendom passing money plates around. These types of forms that get passed around are much worse, you are making a monthly commitment. Factor in how the Society has encouraged ones to donate their stocks, bonds, homes, land, 401k, jewelry, literally any asset and you can see its crystal clear they are 100 times worse than Christendom passing money plates around.
is god responsible for every good thing that happens in your life?
i ask this because a brother gave a talk several weeks ago and said that.
he said when anything positive happens, we must not assume it was by mere coincidence, but we have to have 100% confidence that jehovah cares for us and was involved.. however, people complain that jehovah doesn’t answer their prayers and are told you have to keep asking, you need to show him you really want it bad.
As moreconfusedthanever said, how come God doesn't answer the prayers of all the children being molested? Does he just let years go by so he can test out their endurance and faith in him? Another thing I find ironic is expressing our thanks to God for the meal we have in front of us or the roof over our head. What about the homeless people that pray for a better life? What about all the millions of people starving across the globe that pray for help? Does God just not care about them? Do they have a bunch of secret sins they're hiding? I have concluded some are just more fortunate than others, it has nothing to do with God blessing you.

I see in point 7 of the last link they are shamelessly begging for more money.

However, people complain that Jehovah doesn’t answer their prayers and are told you have to keep asking, you need to show him you really want it bad. With that logic, since I don’t pray about stuff and good things happen, is he helping me even though I’m not asking for help?
There are other JWs that move where the need is greater and say it was so obvious that Jehovah directed them there. Yet, any of them could be killed in a car accident, get cancer or swept away in a tsunami. These things happen. Why would Jehovah direct them to be in a position to preach to people in far away lands, only to offer no protection that results in their death?
People say you need to work along with your prayers. If you want a Bible study, you have to work in line with it and go looking. If you want a job that supports you to pioneer, you have to search and work along with your prayers. What it all boils down to is you have to make it happen, Jehovah can’t do anything without you taking action.
I think it’s easy to conclude that life is full of good things as well as shit happens. There is no chance a God could even be concerned about what happens in our everyday lives. For some JWs to credit Jehovah with all good things that happen and Satan with all bad things is utterly ridiculous.

You were simply viewed as an easy placement for her monthly time card. She wouldn’t have to talk to you since you were on the phone and she assumed you’d just take it to get rid of her.
