fyi---had a part about the relief ministry to show what "jehovah" is accomplishing through his organization to help the brothers and sisters abroad to the praise of "jehovah's" name.

even the governing body representation is there for spiritual support.. after this encouraging part, the elders put to the congregation a resolution to send a one time $10,000 to the branch for relief work.

Those resolutions are complete peer pressure to donate. You are put on the spot and have no choice but to conform and raise your hand in agreement. Whatever happened to giving out of your own willingness and not under compulsion? What a crock of shit, these greedy bastards need to go down.

Omg, I think I will be skipping meeting tomorrow night, thanks for the heads up. I will phone in and listen to hear them fleece the flock and not be a part of any resolution to support this multi billion dollar corporation.

New Light on the 144,000?

someone on facebook is claiming to have reliable information that the gb is about to announce new light on the 144,000 -- that it's symbolic, not literal.. one person suggested that they will retain the two-class teaching and just change the meaning of 144,000. his idea was that the change would avoid three problems with the current teaching:.

1. embarrassment over more and more partakers at the memorial when the number should be getting less and less.. 2. embarrassment over 12 symbolic 12,000s somehow equaling a literal 144,000.. 3. solving the problem of running out of "anointed" ones who are old enough to be on the gb.. thoughts?.

Something popular JWs always say is we need to preach the truth to people, they live with no hope! We need to share our hope with them and change their life!

Let’s step back and analyze this. Most people of other religions believe they are going to heaven. Why do they believe that? Jesus said anyone that believes and drinks the wine and bread will follow him up to heaven. Seems like a hope to me that one can have confidence in.

On the other hand, JWs believe they will be living as perfect humans on earth. Did Jesus tell them that would be the case? No. Did Jesus say some should not partake during the Lords Evening Meal? No. Is there clear evidence there will be a paradise earth? No.

When you analyze this very simply, it’s clear the world has a hope built on a solid foundation, while JWs have a hope built on sand that is slowly getting washed away. JWs believe imperfect men and ignore Jesus. I don’t know how it can be made any clearer and simpler than that.

Never knew missing meetings was such a big deal

i do bible study and attend meetings.

”well i was away and i was going to attend in that city”.

i did everything right, i told my bible study conductors in advance and genuinely i wanted to see another hall.

I just can’t wrap my head around why meeting attendance is stressed so hard. We all know it’s the same stuff you’ve heard decade after decade, you will learn nothing new. It is solely catered to new ones and children. Do you all think the Branch, CO, Governing Body have said if the attendance falls below a threshold for a time or the amount of money coming in is less than a threshold, it’s a given they will shutdown the Kingdom Hall? It seems like that would make sense, it’s a business and business is all about money.

I can relate to your shakes HiddenPimo. I’d start getting all anxious when Friday came every week. Everyone at work was excited about the upcoming weekend, while I dreaded it due to Saturday field service. Such a crazy life and we thought recruiting people was going to improve their life!
