growing up in the 70's and 80's in the jw religion who remembers the massive stadium gigs the watchtower used to hold?.
we used to denounce false religion in the starkest of terms.
we were right and by god we were letting anyone who listened know it.
I do recall those times and how motivating they were. You would leave Sunday and really ponder over how you could give more to Jehovah, it was like a drug. We thought it was Holy Spirit working on us. I don’t know if it was more exciting back then or we were so deeply entrenched and brainwashed.
All I know now is the conventions are boring as fuck and there is no semblance of those past times and excitement.

they know many people are fearful and feeling vulnerable due to world events.. but something i’ve always considered is how will they be better off by becoming a jw.
they can be a jw, but the world events still are happening causing everyone anxiety.
and no, jws are not immune from this, jws are more anxious and paranoid as ever right now.

So really, what benefit do they get by converting? Is it just to feel like your better than everyone else and have all life’s answers? Which we know isn’t the case.
They can’t even feel comfortable about learning there is no hell and going to a paradise earth, because most JWs I know aren’t sure they are good enough to make it. That comes from all the leaders preaching they are never doing enough, do more, give more! They are much worse off I feel, in a past religion they believed they were going to heaven with no doubts in their minds.
Do any of you see what strong benefits someone gains by becoming one? The only thing I can possibly think of is the instant group of friends they gain.

One thing I’m very grateful this virus has brought is companies realization that workers can be productive at home. I feel we need to get at least 30-40% of people off the roads and working from home even when things are back to normal. We have far too much traffic and pollution with only a limited amount of oil. It’s so foolish to keep forcing all that so workers can be micromanaged in an office building.
i hope that within the next several months we will get back to some type of normalcy.

scrolling through the news this morning and i couldn’t help to think we are light years from any leaders crying out peace and security.
jws are going to have to wait another decade or two and see how things develop before they get excited about armageddon coming in their lifetime.

The fact of the matter is no one knows shit about it because no testing is in place to see accurate data of the worlds population, a country, state or even a small town or city. It’s all pure speculation based off 1% of data.
