We’ve been told it’s on hold till the branch gives further instruction, which they haven’t yet. I think some JWs are just making assumptions.

Witnessing Work to Stop?
by Sea Breeze inmy 87 year old dad called me for the first time in 16 years the other day .... just to chat.
i was floored to say the least since he didn't even bother to call me when my mom died several years ago.
he called again today to inquire how i felt about jehovah's witnesses.

Economic Recovery after COVID-19
by Simon init feels like we've really turned a corner, this morning especially.. the covid lockdowns are ending and medical systems were not overwhelmed plus there are existing treatments that have been proven to be effective (like hydroxychloroquine) and new vaccines and medicines in the pipeline.
a week or so ago the dems were dead against opening things up but since they are encouraging protests (which often turn violent) they can't continue that stance - thus proving trumps claim that it will soon be gone.
the majority of the deaths were politician-assisted (which i hope people are prosecuted for) so it's not the big risk we were led to believe and (over) reacted to.. the bls reported this morning that the us economy just added a huge number of jobs (most on record) and will undoubtedly benefit even more from a drive to source local production and supply chains going forwards.

I believe there will be a big collapse in commercial real estate. Many employers have come to the realization they no longer need many office buildings. They can cut some people that may not be necessary and allow others to work from home. My employer is getting rid of many office buildings. They realized how productive people are from home and want to enjoy some massive savings.

I think people should start recording cop encounters and show how they go very well when you are compliant and not an arrogant asshole. Oh wait, that wouldn’t be interesting for the media to share.

I’m very sure many elders get off knowing the dirt on everyone else.
Here is another thing that has to play out in their homes. Their wives need to know the latest gossip. If the elder tells her, the confidentiality is out the window. If he doesn’t tell her, you know the marriage is strained.
I feel bad for all the ones that have to go to prison exercising their neutrality. Upon release, you are a convicted felon and struggle to find employment I’m sure.

Breaking: Beards in The Watchtower
by neat blue dog inthe latest issue of the watchtower shows a man with a beard praying.. .
i fully expected to see him 'progress' to clean-shaven in the following pictures, but instead he is still bearded when 'applying bible principles'.. .
i then realized that he was already featured on the cover itself.. .

I’m not aware of any US congregations that allow a brother to hold privileges with a beard. A brother could be a sterling example always commenting at meetings and out on field service, but wouldn’t even be allowed to rove with the microphones, because they are a “bad example”. They will guilt you to an extreme in order to get you to shave it off.

From your perspective, why do you believe the elders treated him that way?

It’s great news, yet they had to add in that unemployment grew slightly for blacks. The fucking media are now bringing racism into the unemployment figures, they are so fucking retarded!

As Minimus stated, they want the police eliminated. They want something like “The Purge” to be the norm. Read about it, they want the police defunded.
I hate to wake people up, but Police brutality happens to all races. There is a way to solve it. Eliminate or drastically reduce your encounters with the police. How? Don’t break the law, don’t walk around in a hoodie looking suspicious in 80 degree weather is a start. This is not about race like the dumb fucking media is selling.

This is another update on an imprisonment
Dennis Christensen, Now Imprisoned in Russia for Three Years, Remains Steadfast and Joyful
As of today, Brother Dennis Christensen has endured three years of unjust imprisonment in Russia. Since his arrest on May 25, 2017, some friends have asked Brother Christensen how this tribulation has affected his faith. His answer has remained the same: “My faith has become only stronger.”
It appears they are saying someone can improve spiritually by attending no meetings, no field circus, nor associating with the brothers and sisters.

NEWS ALERT | Crimean Supreme Court Sentenced Brother Artem Gerasimov to Six Years in Prison
On June 4, 2020, the Crimean Supreme Court sentenced Brother Artem Gerasimov to six years in prison for his peaceful Christian worship. He was seeking acquittal from his original sentence by the Yalta City Court, which was a fine for 400,000 rubles (approx. $6,000 U.S.). The appeal ruling immediately came into force and Brother Gerasimov was taken into custody. He will appeal this decision.
Am I reading this right? He simply appealed the fine, and to add insult to injury, they threw him in prison for losing the appeal to the fine?
