I kicked the Borg out!
by target insometimes our recovery depends a lot on how we percieve the events that took place.
over the years i felt like the victim so many times and until i couldn't take it anymore and i "left".
i suddenly realized that i didn't go anywhere.

Faith... and Trust: The Same Things?
by AGuest inin a discussion with some other dear ones, the question was asked as to what such ones put their faith in.
in response to one comment that"one can't function without faith," another disagreed, stating ones can, that "many do so every day... the ones who have trust" (in things like the sun rising in the east versus the west).
that trust extended to "faith" based "on nature and the natural order of things.

Yes, Guest, that's exactly what I saw happening. Just exactly. Hypocrisy. Leaves a bad taste in the mouth.
I don't make decisions about people quickly. I will read this thread in bits, because it really very long.
This is the last post I can make for the next 24 hours. I should have saved them up to make them count!
Elderelite, thank you for telling me that. There must be a story behind that because you don't sound like an elder; I don't mean to be ruude, but you don't.
Thank you for wishing me peace, Guest.

Are you still an elder, elderelite.
Don't answer if you don't want to. I just don't understand this.

Thank you everybody, especially Most Noble for saying my stoory is wonderful. I've read some very sad and difficult stories on here. I don't think mine is really wonderful. We just talked all together, not once, but over a long time really.
Once you know it's wrong, you can't stay in, can you? Otherwise it would all be a pretence.

Thank you Tec and thank you Guest, for your welcomes.
I'm not quite sure what's going on, and I will take your advice and read in here.
It is puzzling. Looks like a lot of angry people and some not angry.

I left because gradually I realised that it was wrong.
It isn't the truth. It's a big lie.
It wasn't a case of light suddenly dawning. I just came to a point where I knew it was wrong.
I waited for a long time, until I was sure, or at least sure that I couldn't go along with it any longer. First, my wife and I just did less and less. we were down to one Saturday maybe a month. Then we just decided not to go out any more. Our life wasn't our own, so we had a family talk. None of us wanted any part of it any more, and we just decided to stop. They kept after us, which made my wife upset, so we wrote to them and we are clear.
Neither of us were born in. we came in together years ago, and we came out all together. So we are lucky. It's not as if our families were in. Just us, and now none of us. we miss our friends but we are making new ones.
That's it. No interesting story, not like I've read on here.

OK the the Pope just said christ wasn't born on Dec. 25th
by trujw inok duh i knew that as does millions of christians but oh wow will jws have a field day with this.
somehow the popes word now will be taken as proof the truth is right.
everything else he says is the words of satan but this oh this is the true gospel.

The Watchtower will now say that Christ was born on December 25th after all.
Because the Pope's always wrong, isn't he?

This is my first time now that I'm registered. I've been reading here for a while though.
It's been a long journey to get here, but now I have turned my back on everything I've known for such a long time, but a new road lies ahead, and this is one of the first steps on it.
