I always thought some of the people gave us donations just to get them off their front door step. I never asked for donations, always felt a little weird peddling WT stuff anyway. I guess that foreshadowed my leaving.

Is this legal?
by IronGland inif a former jw decided to put on a suit and tie and go door to door trying to place old wt magazines and books they had laying around, and asking for a small donation, but using the proceeds to buy beer, is that illegal in any way?
i figure they at least owe me a beer.edited by - irongland on 4 november 2002 21:28:23.

what to tell mommy
by madison149 infor any of you that faded away from jws without getting df'd or da'd, what excuse did you give your close (jw) family members for why you stopped attending meetings?
did you let on that you were having doubts about the organization, did you pretend to be just really spiritually weak, or were you just very vague, saying you were really busy or having heath problems, etc?
i ask because my mom is forever on my case about attending meetings.

I told my mommy I didn't believe it anymore. To my surprise, she still talks to me.

I don't know if this person got the job. This person works here at my employer on a part-time basis anyway. All we did was make our recommendations. Then the big dogs get to interview them. I just know my mouth dropped to the floor when I heard "full-time pioneer."

I was on a hiring committee last week for my employer. One of the questions was asked "what are your outside activities". One of the applicants stated "I am a full time pioneer at my church."....

What did you do to piss the brothers off?
by Pleasuredome inwhen you were getting fed up with meetings before you gave up, was there anything you did to deliberately get on the brothers nerves?.
i turned up to a meeting once with jeans on, and a red top with cccp on it with the 'hammer and sickle'.
i also went to another bs group a few times so that if i wasnt at one group they'd think i was at the other and vice versa.

My parents enjoyed berating me in front of others, even well into my 20's. One day I had enough of their crap. I stood at the back row of the KH and told both of my parents off, loudly and extremely obnoxious. My parents stood with their mouths open in dead silence. Guess what...they left me alone...

Wedding receptions -- weird JW ideas
by Gopher inhave a reputation for being immature and quick to take offense!
then you can find yourself invited to a jw wedding reception.
do you doubt this?

I have only been to a few JW weddings and the few I remember were mostly pretty fun fare, except for the one I went to where they were dancing to Kingdumb Melodies in a gym. I thought I was going to heave.
