Whenever I see literature of the JW's, I try to toss it, unfortunately most of it is at my relative's homes and its sort of hard to do that!

JW litter-ature and Catholic hospitals
by bebu ini noticed that recently that people mentioned finding wts literature in their local hospitals.
i don't know about the standard public hospital, catholic hospitals will be more interested in understanding that the literature is anti-catholic.. i have brought wt litter-ature to the attention of ladies manning the info desk at our local catholic hospital, and explained to them that the jws are extremely anti-catholic.
and their being a private catholic hospital, they had no reason to permit that.

Has anybody successfully quit using caffeine altogether?
by DanTheMan inmy anxiety and stress levels are really bad lately.
i think i'd be doing myself a favor to quit caffeine, as it has become a real catch-22 for me, where i need it to stay awake, but it causes me to lose sleep, so i need more of it to stay awake, etc.. i've learned through experience that i'm very sensitive to any sort of chemical substance that affects neurotransmitter flow, and, given my general propensity towards depression/anxiety/paranoia/add, i think that at least one thing i could do to give me a calmer, more stable neurotransmitter mix would be to eliminate caffeine.
i've tried to reduce before, and i've found that i just start making excuses to have a little more, a little more, until i'm right back where i started.. so, i'm just wondering if anybody else has had a similar experience where they felt the need to not just reduce but eliminate caffeine altogether, and if so, how did it go, did it help, how long has it been, etc.

I remember dad redoing the congregation maps about 20 years ago and putting them in plastic holders, similar to a bank deposit book holder. He got really good maps and redid everyone of them. They looked really nice, then he went to the library and got the Cris Cross directory and looked up all the addresses in apartments where they couldn't get in...about a month later I got one of those letters because I lived in one of those apartments they couldn't get into...

When do you put a dog down?
by katiekitten inim at my dads house at the moment and they have this dog thats 14 years old, and apparently this brand of dog has an average life expectancy of 10, so shes had a good innings.. now im not a dog owner, so its pretty easy for me to say i think they should put the dog down.
my dads wife is very sentimental about the dog.
i would say she was very attached to it, but for all her sentimentality, she has never walked the dog (its always been my dad) and she is not the one who gets up in the night with a mop and bucket - that'd be dad too.

A good dog owner is there for all the things in its dog's life, the beginning, the middle and the end.

I would report Petsmart's High Priestess of Priggery to management and get her a good reprimand.

In 1983 I went on a cruise (one of the Carnivale ships) and there was a whole slew of JW's on there. I asked how they all got together, she told me there was a JW travel agency in Florida that booked all the cruises. This was the height of the Love Boat fame and so many people were taking cruises then, I remember the disco and the JW's were the most fun and also drank the most. Although they stayed away from the casino, they spent plenty time dancing to Donna Summer.

Would You Stop Going To Mel Gibson Movies???
by minimus ini wouldn't.
i don't care too much for spike lee but i like some of his movies.....i just think mel needs some help.
-

Since Mel financed "Passion" himself, the money he received back, OMG, this guy probably does own Malibu. This is a man who never has to work again.
I wouldn't boycott his movies, although he needs to do the "Mel I'm Sorry Tour" and stay sober.

I remember going to see "Fatal Attraction" while still an active, "devout" JW because I wanted to see what all the hype was about. That was actually one movie that lived up to its hype.
BTW, that movie is 20 years old now!
