I know nothing about the Harry Potter series except lots of kids of all ages love it. My friend who was never a JW will not let her kids see it because of the violence. I think there is a underlying debate going on with people who claim to be Christian and letting their kids go see it. Again, I have no opinion either way.

I didn't get fired!!!!

When my friend and I were in college, my friend would use this phrase to jerky guys while we were getting hit on in bars. She would say "I am the one who scrapes the dead animals off the streets." That cracked me up 20 years ago and it's still funny (to me at least to this day). Maybe the GB could do that profession!

I have watched TBN when I have been flipping through the channels. I always enjoyed watching "A Date with Dale", the late Dale Evans show that was both interesting and sad. She would sing those old gospel songs long after her voice had gone. I have watched with interest that show that ministers to convicts in prison (Liberty to the Captives). I have also seen various Hollywood actors be on that show. I saw Judge Reinhold on there not too long ago. I will always remember him from that bathroom scene in "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" when he's looking at Phoebe Cates through the window and doing some self-gratification.

I remember watching Theresa Graves on Laugh In and Get Christy Love when I was a little kid. She was a tall, pretty and very savvy actress. I remember when she stopped acting and Mom told me she had become a JW. That was in the early 70's, if my memory serves me correctly. However, I guess I was really too busy watching The Brady Bunch.

Alcoholism is a hard thing for a person to admit. Once they admit it, they have started towards recovery. However many addicts will never admit it and tell you it's everyone's else fault and they're just fine. AA is a wonderful resource for the alcoholic and their family members or friends (www.aa.org). The alcoholic has got to admit the problem. Also, maybe her insurance pays for rehab. My insurance pays 100% for up to a month.
