it seems to me that jws in the workplace fall into three basic categories: (1) the matter-of-fact type who goes about his/her business, not hiding his/her religious afflililation and seldom if ever initiates conversations on religious topics, but who nonethless hews to the wtbs party line on involvement in non-business social events, i.e.
office holiday parties, etc.
handling any inquiries succinctly; (2) the aggressive type that seeks opportunity to ``give a witness" to workmates, who brings in and displays prominently wt literature and reads or studies his/her wt at lunchtime and at coffee breaks; or (3) the ``double lifer" easy-going type who's one of the boys/gals and who onlyreveals his/her religious affliliation reluctantly or under duress, yet away from work is a regular meeting attender and active in ``field service.".
A combination of #2 and #3...
last year on memorial day a group of about 14 east coast ex-jw's met together in providence ri.
i had the pleasure of being able to have most of them back to our apartment for dessert, and thoroughly enjoyed meeting local people with a similar background.
i was able to meet zev, somebody, red horse woman, scumrat, sister act, doc bob & his wife, as well as others whom i can't remember their online names.. this year, i would like to get another group together on memorial day again, and hopefully we'll get even more of a response this year.
Doc Bob and wife - I met them last month in PA at the Witnesses Now for Jesus Convention - what a great couple!
the plumbing designer quit and i am left holding the bag.
i have avioded drawing isometric plumbing diagrams for years.
now i have to suddenly get good at it.
PM Me - I work in the AutoCAD Department -
i don't know if anyone noticed since i'm not one of the premier posters, but i've been gone for several weeks.
unfortunately, the reason is i was in a very bad car accident.
i can't give too many details, because i don't want to be identified, but my car was hit by a semi truck on a major freeway during rush hour.
Glad you're much better!
i can't believe they still refer to these shows as "soaps", but yes, i'll be the first to admit that i tape one soap show regularly, and am quite up on all the goings on.
and, sometimes, i suppose i can even admit to being obsessive.
this is especially so, if the story line is at a very good place, and the power goes off during my day at work, and it doesn't get taped.
Not since they cancelled Knots Landing. What a great bunch of crap that went on in that cul-de-sac. The Fairgates, The Ewings...that was great TV.
Currently I am hooked on this soap.
hello my lovely dallas people,
as some of you know, i am visiting your area real soon.
my soo gracious work force asked (demanded) me to continue my training in the dallas area.
We're legends in our minds here in Texas....please come and join us. Cruzan and Big Tex always need another reason to have an apostafest!

I've had AOL for several years now. I am dumping it very soon. Anyone else have AOL and what is your opinion? Mine - they are like a large vacuum - they suck big time.
what was the first computer you ever owned?
for me it was the trs-80 model 1. i bought it for $10 at a second hand store when i was 10 years old.
took me forever to find info on the thing, an manual, and a patchcord to hook up a cassette deck.
when i was a kid, we did halloween every year.
no big deal, just costumes and trick or treating, but that was the 70's.
when i was 11 we stopped celebrating everything, and several years ago i left the jw's.
When I was a kid, we did Halloween every year. No big deal, just costumes and trick or treating, but that was the 70's. When I was 11 we stopped celebrating everything, and several years ago I left the JW's. Now I celebrate most everything EXCEPT Halloween. I find the occult overtones too much. We were discussing this amongst my friends the other night. A friend of mine said she sees no difference between Halloween and the Fall Festivals celebrated by local churches. I think celebrating Halloween is definitely a personal decision and I'm not trying to sway or cause conflict, I choose not to participate. I find I am in the minority, even at my local church. Any thoughts?
